Basically the only genres I do not read are horror, and sci fi. br/ br/ Since I have lost Both Of My Parents, My Mom passed away on April, 16, 2009, Dad passed on September 16, 2004. How bizarre, both on Thursdays the 16th, they are now together again. Since they are both gone now, I took care of Mom until the day she passed away in my arms.... more »

Hi Tammy...sounds like your situation is similar..if it weren't for bad luck, we'd have none at all! Car troubles now, and Drs. visits...ER for me, extreme high bp...too much stress and worry about everything and everybody here. Have a Drs. appt. Friday.
As for something to read, I am engrossed in one from our library...The Rose Garden by Susanne Kearsley...a time-travel novel and sooo good. It takes my mind off things here, so maybe it would help you too. She also wrote The Winter Sea...both books are amazing, at least to me. I love her writing, characters, storyline and trying to read everything she has written. I'm almost finished with the first one...and have read the second, which is also a time-travel...romantic, adventure, I couldn't put it down. Hope this helps...take care and hope things get better for you soon.

Hi...sorry I'm so slow...its been really hectic since Thanksgiving and still ongoing. Yes, I really liked Bloodroot, and I think you would too. Are you reading anything new?

Hi, Just finished Poison Heart and it is the 5th in a series by Mary Logue. Requested Maiden Rock #6.
Have you ever looked at Fantastic Fiction - http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/ It's an excellent place to find new reads! I usually recommend it to my class when we discuss Readers' Advisory.
    Have a great weekend! : )

Sorry, didn't see this right away. I enjoyed Blood Country. The protagonist Claire Watkins has lost her husband and moves to Wisconsin with her young daughter. It is well written and the characters are interesting.

Hi Tammy, I really like Louise Penny. But start with the first book Still Life. Just started reading Mary Logue and Vicki Delany. Not bad - give them a try.
Take care and happy reading! Susan

Hi....no, Zanesville is quite aways from me. Its sad they had to kill all those animals, but I guess they had too to protect the people in that area. I'm not a news watcher either...what is the Basement Horrors in PA? I don't watch tv much...would rather read. I'm doing ok, but this wet weather gets to me...nothing new. I just haven't been on the computer that much lately. Trying to do some much needed cleaning and rearranging in my computer/book room...its a mess, but my mess so I work at it in spurts. Thanks for all the cards. I hope you are feeling better? What are you reading? I just finished "Kindred" by Octavia E. Butler this morning. Its an older book from our library and I really enjoyed it. Its about time-travel, which I've started getting interested in, but not if its too sci-fi. This one wasn't so it held my interest. Take care, Hugs, Sandy

Hi...yes you can read his books out of order, their all separate stories. I've read a couple and they were ok. I think he has a new one out, but can't remember the title. I still haven't listed the books I got at the library sale...haven't had time today. I will tomorrow sometime. Picked up three of the Taste of Home cookbook annuals too...couldn't resist at .50 cents each. Gonna go get a shower, and ready for bed. I'm really achy today, have been for most of this week, so probably will be back up. I usually read then until I get sleepy again. Take care, hope your feeling better soon.

    Hugs,
    Sandy

Hi Tammy....sorry I haven't been on here alot, other than to add books or check email. Haven't felt too good, arthritis acting up, and meds I take for pain make me drowsy. Its been raining here also, except for yesterday and today so I'm feeling better and not so stiff. I haven't had the extra $$$ to mail you those books I mentioned, thought I would last weekend, but had an unexpected problem with the car. Always something, but I haven't forgotten you. Hope you've been well? Alot of flu "bugs" around here...so far, we've been good at keeping it at bay. I've been reading as always...helps keep my mind occupied when I ache...finished "Half Broke Horses" last night. I need to quit getting books from the library and read more of my own. I'm reading "River Angel" by A. Manette Ansay now...started it this morning, and so far its good. I need to update my shelf here and at Goodreads. Well just a quickie to let you know we're ok and I will write again soon. Hugs, Sandy

Ooh! Thank you so much! I love her books [Sandra Dallas]! Have you read some of her earlier ones? Their good too. Glad you got my email ok...I was afraid I sent it to the wrong address by mistake. So sorry to hear your Mom is in so much pain...my prayers are with her and hope that the Drs. can at least do something for that. Take care!

Hi...these books I've posted lately...last 2 or 3 are library books. I'm always writing down titles and authors of books, and when I go to the library, I look for them. Sometimes I have to get them through inner-loan library, but I'm glad cause otherwise I don't think I'd find them, unless its through Amazon or another book place online. Can't always afford that! I just sent you an email earlier this morning. Hope you got it?

Definitely read it. Quick read. Interesting insight into civilian life during WWII. Should I read Appalachia?
