Your cat is awesome and so is the huge orgami piece. xD Is your cat an Egyptian Mau? I can't wait to read The Tygrine Cat, Im having it sent from a far-away library, not even in our district. :P And yes, I highly recommend A Mango-Shaped Space. It's wonderful. I almost cried; I'm such a baby sometimes. xD

Hey! :) This is really random, but I love your icon to bits! Have you ever read the Tygrine cat? I really want to read it, because I've read all of the warriors series and enjoyed each book very much. This book looks sort of connected, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Let me know! :D

Hi! I just wanted to stop by and invite you to check out my group called Across The Pond. It's a great group with great Shelfarians who love to discuss topics on the UK (literature, culture, traditions, etc). It's a lot of fun and I hope you will come and check it out soon! We would love to have you there! Thanks!

I know you've already posted and we are recently all friendly like, but I had to say welcome to the Pop Culture Junkies Group where anything pop culture goes. Feel free to add any books to our bookshelf, start a discussion or take part in more of the discussions already happening. Every Monday we do a week in review, talk about our favorite films and TV shows we saw that week, recommend new music, and anything else we liked that weekend. Tuesdays are new release day for most pop culture stuff so I try to put up a list. Wednesday is our top five question which has ranged from our favorite fictional restaurant to eat at to top five superpowers. Of course beyond that we talk a bit about everything. Glad to know that there are other pop culture geeks out there. Good to have you.

We have 25 books in common but some of those are some of my favorites or at least high on my to be read pile. You have a great little eclectic shelf. Reminds me of my own. I think I found some more books to pile onto my to be read pile.

By the way what did you think of Green Angel by Alice Hoffman?

Hi Zozie! Just read your note - sorry, I've been head down, tail up, for weeks, finishing the latest. I enjoyed 'Garden Spells' - it was very like 'Practical Magic' though, and so contained no true surprises. I've just finished 'Queen's Own Fool' by Jane Yolen and Robert Harris - and loved it! I ordered over the net as I couldn't get it here in Oz and it was worth it!

Recommend The Tygrine Cat- it constantly reminded me of yours. Having fun reading through the pile I bought in Sydney- with only a modicum of guilt. Just read Thirst (MTAnderson)- liked it better than Octavian Nothing, but a similar underlying bleakness.

Haven't read any other Scott Westerfield- yet. Was tempted by one I saw the other day- one of the midnighters series, I think, though the uglies sound fascinating in a 1984 nightmarish kind of way. At the moment I'm reading The Dark Mirror and have just bought First among Sequels. Neverwhere is also staring up at me from the table.

I know! Five books short-listed! I think it's a record too. It's very thrilling and pleasing after all the hard work. I do hope to win, but of course there's no guarantees and the competition is pretty stiff. At least I can enjoy basking in the moment :)

Yeah it was odd but hilarious, and though I missed some parts other new random parts kinda made up for it.. I liked how there was more 'conflict' in the movie, and the end makes more sense, too, and is very sweet ;-)

Lovely! I'm looking forward to reading it. Though my pile of books is enormous! I notice you've just added 'The Owl Service' by Alan Garner. Have you read The Weirdstone of Brisingham? I'm re-reading it now for the first time in at least 20 years ....

I loved Rebecca's World as a child, I used to read it over and over again! I can still remember lines from it nearly thirty years later!
