The March group read for the Dean Koontz group will be "Watchers". Our April group read will be "The Good Guy". We hope you can join us!
P.S. I reread "The Talisman" not too long ago too, and thought that one was still quite good.
Hey, since you like Stephen King, have you ever read the Dark Tower series? I started in high school, but at that time, only the first 3 books were out. I got so frusterated waiting for the next book, that I told myself I wouldn't continue the series till all seven books were out, so about 2 years ago I did read the whole series. What an epic story. I reread "The Shinning" recently and that one held up to the test of time. I reread "The Stand" and this one lost some of it's charm from when I read it in 8th grade. I see you've added some Paulo Coelho too. Cool. I've read "The Alchemist" of course and most recently enjoyed "The Devil and Miss Prym". I thought that was an excellent one. I own two other of his, "The Valkyries" and "The Zahir", both of which I have yet to read. Have you read either of those yet? I added another book to the club site, this one is more of an adult fantasy that won the Hugo in 2005. It's "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Suzanna Clarke. I should start it myself in 4 or 5 days. I just finished two stories by Dostoevsky, "The Double" and "The Gambler". I liked each one for different reasons. Anyway, I'll talk to you later, Bryan.
I put the next selection in the club page, so check it out. It's by C.J. Cherryh and she's a very good writer, so you may not want to miss this one. Later, Bryan.
Have you thought about reading the John Varley series? I'm gonna start book 3 tonight, so pretty soon, I'll pick the next selection.
The February group read in the Dean Koontz group will be "The Husband". I hope you will be able to join us. Also, the voting is up now for our March read. Please stop by and cast your vote!
Looking at your shelf, I used to read alot of Stephen King and John Saul. Not too long ago, I went through the whole Dark Tower series. I started it in high school, but had to wait too damn long for the next book, so I told myself, I will hold off till all seven books are out, then I'll go through the whole thing, which I did. I also read a more recent King book called "Cell". Have you read that one. I really liked it. I believe the guy who made the "Hostel" movies is turning "Cell" into a movie soon. Anyway, later, Bryan.
Thanks for accepting. Anyway, if you check out my profile, you will notice that I started my very own book club. If you want, please do join. For the first selections, me and my friend Luke decided on a trilogy by John Varley that is supposed to be good. I just started the first book "Titan" last night. Now, most of the time we will be reading stand alone books, it just happens we chose this trilogy. I've been wanting to read it for some time now. Take care, and I'll talk to you later, Bryan.
