How did you like The Culture Clash? I really like the idea of training with classical conditioning and positive reinforcement. And boy, does this training method work with my dog. My dog loves treats, which is a good way to train her, however, all of my friends and neighbors are training her, mostly unwittingly, (with treats, and without my permission) so that she is learning some bad habits, such as running and jumping up on cars, because a friend opens her car door and gives Angel treats. Another friend who walks her dog, gives my dog treats when she runs up to greet her-reinforcing this behavior which could prove deadly if Angel runs across the street to get her cookie. Love dogs. They are amazing creatures.
Great shelf! Some real heavy hitters here, Chomsky and Russell. I'm jealous. Keep on reading. I recommend Ghost Wars by Stephen Coll. It is a great piece of writing, in my humble opinion.
