Thanks so much for your hard work on this, zawadi. It's greatly appreciated, and there really isn't a time limit on things so please don't be concerned. Anytime you can will be great.

If I'm not around, you can post the link yourself, and just let people know that we'll formalize the selection process when I get back. But for now, they can look and think to themselves about the pros/cons of the various avatars . . .

    Hi Zawadi!

I was just wondering if you received the avatars okay? Please let me know the URL when you post them on your blog so I can put it up on PBT. I'm leaving for vacation on July 27th so feel free to work with Ladyslott if I'm not around . . .

Many thanks again with the help!!

    Hi Zawadi,
I'm in a dilemma. I have been looking for Pramoedya Toer's "Letter to a Friend from the Country" and Helene Cixous' "A Life of Letters". These are essays. I know I'm barking up the right tree. Please help. A million thanks.

Just adding that THIS GROUP is not one that focuses on anything but books, not any type of controversy over ideas and opinions.... Thus, my second thoughts about any further comment on the subject there.

Honestly? Because I was concerned my post would spark another controversy with some in the group -- particularly with mothers of new teens. But since you are interested, it was about young people seeing images on TV as bad as the ones that overwhelmed Jonas in the book and wondering how the young readers separated those from what is pretty "normal fare" in our culture. ( I know not all parent allow free access to TV and Internet, but many do.) How can those kids "get" how devastating the memories of war, sufferent and death were to Jonas when they probably don't normally have those reactions themselves. My concern is that parents in the group would become defensive because they have experiences with their children that do show they have strong emotions about these issues. Still, many are over-exposed to it if they watch the news, aren't they? Just my thoughts, not being a parent of that age group or teaching them in many a year....

Hi Zawadi...saw your post that you were getting discouraged with the Play Book Tag game. How are you keeping up?

Incidentally, right now I'm on Self-Help and am having a hard time finding one I wanted to read...but it also surprised me how many books I had already read were under different tags. So maybe you'll want to start from page 1 rather than page 10?
