Hi Zadkiel! I'm from the Author Author group and just wanted to welcome you to our group. As you might already know, January's "featured" author is Neil Gaiman, and we have two "secondary" authors, Ursula Le Guin and Terry Pratchett. If you're interested, you can choose a book written by one of these three authors, and after you've read it, please come post a review and star rating so the rest of us in the group know what you read and whether you liked it or not. Happy Reading!

So, you've read The Black Swan. What did you think of it? I've been curious about it since it first came out.

I understand, I wish I had more time to read. I have a David Sedaris book on the way any day now, Me Talk Pretty One Day. I have never read him so I look forward to it.

I'm just finishing up Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. I am enjoying it ... I think it's a freaky glimpse into mental illness.

I'm also starting Post Office by Bukowski, a recommendation from a friend.

How am I? I'm unfit for human consumption! LOL
How are you? Read anything worth mentioning lately?
I broke down and read The Shack. I kept hearing about it and finally gave into my curiosity. It was really slow in the beginning but it started picking up in the third or fourth chapter. It had a few interesting points. All in all, it was... okay. Not great, not bad, just okay. It's a quick read.
    Have a most excellent weekend!

    Hi:

I thought you might be interested in a contest. It’s wacky, creative and ‘killer’ fun. ‘Create a Corpse’ Contest lets you name a character in my suspense novel Divine Justice. Of course, you guessed it—the character dies

For contest details, just scroll over the following URL, copy and paste into your browser. This is a great contest for avid readers who’d like to be part of the process. I look forward to receiving your entries. :)

    Hi:

I’m touching base with all my Shelfari friends since it’s been so hectic lately and doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down. I have just started my Fall/Winter Book Tour, after recently completing a 1-month virtual book tour (VBT) that was quite exciting. If you’d like to check out my VBT, please go to: http://www.whalesongbook.com/virtual-tour-2007.

If you are in the Edmonton area, or traveling to Edmonton, Alberta, between now and Christmas, please check out my book signing schedule. I would LOVE to meet some of my Shelfari friends in person.

And don’t forget, if you order any of my books (Whale Song makes an awesome gift for any woman or young girl in your life), please contact me and ask for a FREE autographed bookplate and bookmark.

    Happy reading!
