Returning back to college as an adult in the Fall of 1997, I had to find an outlet from the stress of having to read numerous books and writing term papers, it was then that I found a love for reading romance novels. I haven't looked back since that time.

Historical romance novels I adore reading. However, I do enjoy reading Regency,...more »

No problem Yvette.♥ You should really come online more often. ^_^ I really missed talking to my friends here in Shelfari. Oh by the way, sorry for the late reply. I had been helping out my sister and my brother-in-law move into their new house. I helped them out and volunteered to paint the walls and the ceilings. I was so exhausted by the end of the day and didn't have the energy to even check my mails. I just went online to add books and that's it. ^_^ There's still a lot to be done on the house but I think that tomorrow, I'll do the lighter jobs and let my brother-in-law handle the heavy ones. *laughs*

I'm really happy to know that the first books club meeting had been successful. Truly Yvette, that's a very big accomplishment considering the fact that it was your first.♥ I'm so very happy for you. As for the book you discussed, it sounded very intriguing and think I'll add it up to my list. Yup, that would be a wonderful idea. You should push your website providers to do that so I can participate in the discussion. ^_^ That way, others who want to become members can be a part even with just the online discussion. Tell me if your web providers approve of it, okay? ^_^

So how was Nite Life by Elizabeth Guest? What romance genre is that book? I'll also look for Galen Foley's The Duke. Oh by the way, is Faefever paranormal romance or urban fantasy? I've discovered I'm rather uncomfortable with urban fantasy. It's too graphic for my taste. Karen Hawkin's How to Abduct a Highland Lord was really funny. It was really a good read. ^_^ Not really a keeper but good nonetheless.♥

Thanks for the words of encouragement Yvette.♥ I need it. ^_^ I'm juggling my time now between thesis and reading romance novels. *laughs*

Have a nice day! Hope to hear from you soon!

    Hello Yvette!

It's so nice to hear from you!♥ You haven't been active lately. But I'm glad you're back.♥

Anyway, a lot of things happened to me lately. One unfortunate event is that I'm still not finish with my thesis. I have this second semester (Nov-March) to finish it. Unfortunately, my thesis adviser said I needed to add more to make it a good one and I had to work on many revisions. But that's all I have to do for that period of time so I've been catching up with my reading romance books. Yup, I've read quite a lot and I'm so happy about it! ^_^ Since I started last Nov.1, I've read the following romance novels:

    Susan Elizabeth Phillips:
    It Had to be You
    This Heart of Mine
    Natural Born Charmer

    Lisa Kleypas:
    Then Came You
    Dreaming of You
    Lady Sophia's Lover

    Sophie Kinsella:
    Can You Keep a Secret

    Karen Hawkins:
How to Abduct a Highland Lord

and also some other YA books such as A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L' Engle.♥

What about you? What good reads did you have lately? I'm currently debating with myself whether to read Elizabeth Hoyt's The Leopard Prince or Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.♥ I also need to finish New Moon by Stephenie Meyer.♥

That's good news! I'm so glad it turned out well. What did you and the members talked about? I wish we have that here.♥ Among my circle of friends, I'm the only one who read romance novels. They actually don't agree with my choice of books to read and they call romance books trashy novels. When they say that, I always fume with anger. *sighs* But then again, we can't always please everyone. But I'm happy with my choice of books and I'm not going to stop it just because some people can't see the beauty of reading romance novels. *anyway, I'm babbling now. ^_^ *

Have a nice day! And please tell me what you and the members talked about so I can feel like I'm a part of it. ^_^

    Hello Robin~!

Sorry for this very delayed response. I was very busy with school so it took me longer to answer all my emails and visit this website.

I've seen the website you made! It looks like it was made by a professional.♥ Did you do the installation of the website and the designs? That's amazing! I don't even know how to do it.♥ But I do know a thing or two about HTML. Anyway, I think that it's a very wonderful idea to start the website for the book club. In that way, people who doesn't live in Pennsylvania (like me) can actually visit the website and check out the activities of the group. It will also be interactive in that sense. ^_^

Have you started with the book club yet? I wish I could join. ^_^

    Have a nice day!

    Hey Joyce -

Hope you did well on your midterm exam. I know how exhausing it can be taking exams. It great that you treated yourself to novels. I love relieving stress like that.

I'm finishing up "Her Every Pleasure" by Gaelen Foley, then I'll be reading "The Pirate Prince". I'm looking forward to reading this novel that is also by Gaelen Foley. If I'm not mistaken, The Priate Prince is Foley's first novel.

Well, I have to get to clean up, so I'll keep.

    Happy Reading

    Hello robin~!

Thanks! I had my midterm exam yesterday and was dead tired by the time I finally got home. As a reward for the stress I had to go through this week, I bought myself Twilight and New Moon.♥ I'll be reading it this weekend and hopefully, I'll be done by Monday before school week begins on Tuesday.♥

As for historical/romance, my current purchases were A Gentle Rogue by Johanna Lindsay and The Secret Pearl by Mary Balogh. I've read some very good reviews about those books so I went ahead and bought it. But I haven't had the chance to read them yet. Maybe after finishing New Moon, I'll go back to reading historical/romance.♥

What about you? What have you been reading lately?

Have a great weekend Robin.♥ Keep in touch! =)

    Hello Robin~!

Sorry it took me a long time to respond to your messages. I've been preparing for an exam for Friday for my Labor Economics class. But I'm taking a little break so I turned on my laptop to check my mail and respond to messages.

I haven't watched The Other Boleyn Girl and The Tudors. I want to read the book first before I watch the movie. But I have to agree with you~!♥ Eric Bana is amazing, he's also one of my favorite actors.♥

*laughs* I just love books and every time I see some interesting books on the shelf of other members, I add them immediately on my I Plan To Read Books. That's the reason why my shelf is ridiculously expanding at a fast rate. *laughs* Books are my life and I would rather stay at home and read than spend my time at the mall and do nothing but window shopping. *laughs*

I truly enjoy looking at your shelf especially since you're a historical romance reader. Lately, it's been hard to find quality historical romance novels so I rely on my friend's shelf to see which romance authors they like and I go from there. Which other romance authors do you like? I've read most of Julia Quinn, Judith McNaught, Julie Garwood, and Lisa Kleypas and I enjoyed most of their works but I want to venture out and read other historical romance authors that's why I'm asking for recs.♥ I'll be looking for The Duke when I go to the bookstore this week.

I'll be looking forward to looking at your shelf in the coming days and see which other books you've read that I can add to my I Plan To Read books. *laughs*

By the way, the link for the Romance Readers Group is here: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/11209/about. I hope you could join us.♥

Have a nice day! Happy reading. Take care!♥

    Talk to you later. ^_^

    Hello Robin Yvette~!

Already sent you a friend invitation. Hope you'll accept it.♥ By the way, call me Joyce.♥

You're also a fan of historical romance. I AM TOO! *laughs* I only started reading romance recently and my favorite romance genre is historical. I also read contemporary and lately, I started reading paranormal. But I also read other literature genre.

I suggest you join the Readers of Romance group. There's a lot of romance readers who are a part of that group and we also have discussions about the books we love and recommend.♥

I love looking at your shelf! I have The Immortal Highlander and The Dark Highlander but I haven't read them yet because I want to read the Highlander series in order.♥ I love Medieval as well as Regency.♥ I noticed you have Galen Foley. =) I saw some of her books on the second hand bookstore before I went home. I actually want to grab one but I don't know where to start. ^.^I hope you can recommend some of her novels you liked.♥

It's so nice to meet you Robin~! I hope we could talk more in the future. Have a nice day! Take care.♥ Happy reading!
