Hi. Sorry I haven't been on here in awhile :) I use my bookclub shelfari more often :) I will add you to friends on both profiles. :) And yes I would like to read your book. Thanks!
I am reading a book called 'Shantaram'.
yes. Manjusha. How did you add me without knowing that? :)
The dulcimer is, as you probably read when you looked it up, is a folk instrument..just 4 strings and limited range. It does have a very sweet sound. I want to play some Irish music ...there are lots of harp tunes that would lend themselves to dulcimer. We also like bluegrass music. After Christmas, I am planning to take some guitar lessons. Would love to hear your tinwhistle.
I have played piano since childhood but recently began learning to play a lap dulcimer, the only truly indigenous American instrument, invented by European immigrants who settled in the Appalachian mountains. My husband plays a mandolin and we are trying to learn pieces to play together.
Gimme a small list of must read books dude... Btw, I guess I got that commitment you were talking about on phone. Am on my 4th chapter now. But I fear it'd be epic sized... Last night, I wrote about the protagonist's ragging experience whr he gets to insert a finger in another fresher's ass. They become friends for life.
Bro, How was The Hobbit. I got the book but still havent read it. My sis said it was boring and stopped half way through. Girls! It probably wasn' her genre...
I have not been so prolific a writer as you because I have spent many years as a high school English teacher, giving all my time to my students' writing! Now that I am retired, I am just beginning to get some ideas together. I have written some memoirs about my childhood. My big dream project is the story of my parents' families before and during World War II and the aftereffects on my parents' lives. I just journal and collect research and occasionally submit pieces to magazines. Other creative interests take chunks of my time. I am learning to play a musical instrument and go to festivals and workshops connected to that. All that sounds like excuses for not getting to the writing but that is just the way the life is: so many opportunities and so little time!
Thanks for the offer to send your book, but I will decline because right now I have a big stack of books I am trying to get through plus I, also write. (Don't all avid readers also write?) Also busy traveling. What do you write about?
Yes, I loved the book and movie. I enjoy historical fiction, in particular stuff about UK monarchs.I see that you have an India connection. I just finished Jhumpa Lahiri's The Namesake about Indian immigrants in America. Have you read it?
Hi there! Hope you are doing well. I haven't read "Elizabeth" yet, but hopefully I will get to it soon. I have a stack of books that came in the mail about a week ago that I am working my way through. :)Do you mind if I add you as a friend?
Glad to see you here at Shelfari :)
