If you aren't familiarly with web site project management then this is the book for you -- one of the best resources on my shelf.

  • CSS Mastery

I thought Andy Budd did a great job explaining and illustrating some of the most common CSS techniques. However, I gave it a lower ratting because I felt that there were a handful of sections throughout the book where the author could have developed the content a bit more -- I got the impression that he ran out of time and "rushed" through to finish the book. In addition, there is a handful of type-o's throughout. None the less, the case-studies and the walk-throughs on some of the CSS hacks and filters were very well done. Hopefully, there will be a second edition with up to date information that includes IE7 and FF3 as well as what to expect for tomorrow's designs.

  • DOM Scripting: Web Design with JavaScript and the Document Object Model
    • Rated 5 stars

This is the most well thought out and well written "teaching" book on javascript and domscripting. This one deserves to sit next to my computer on my desk and will not go back on the bookshelf. I highly recommend this book to any web professional who wants a solid foundation in front-end programming.

Great book on understanding ajax and applying best practices (i.e., hijax).
