Good old Maggie Atwood. I'd forgotten about her.

cool profile. i think you should deem yourself as shelfari's official 'about me' writer.

a blank line is a sign of a blank mind...which mine so aptly illustrates for the time being. br

Well, it doesn't say when I plan to read them, just that I do. I'll stock up on vitamins though, as you recommend.

And, sadly, no, I'll be reading in Anglish. My Frentsch isn't up to the tax. Whereas once I read philosophy in that beautiful language, now I need a dictionary for "Le Petit Prince." However, it's possible you've triggered my pathological competitiveness such that I might have to take a class.

I love your new avatar. You are a fount of commentary in the most delightful ways.

Actually, I made it home through sheer persistence and a pathological competitiveness that comes over me sometimes. What you sense in my avatar is exhaustion from the many Family Events that occurred.

Still. I sort of like it. May keep it.

----Knowing what you know about that saight, try pronouncing those three words kinda fast, so they sound like two words, maybe. Does that sound anything like any coffee you know, or any tea ... or, I dunno, maybe a CAR?

][][][]I tried pernownzing 'em ree-uhll fast, but not fast uhnuf. And, yesss, coffee, tea, and tobacco have wonderful Blends, as do some body oils, I'm guessing. How would I know you weren't hitch-hiking on the redundant "Mercy/Merci?"

I got it. I got it, Janis.

Think yew sew verrrry much for refurring me to that saight.

I appreciate more, though, the fact that you take full responsibility for the err'r of yer ways, Xyz.

Just one quick qwestshun: Would those Mercy Days Blends be coffee, tea, body oils or pipe tobacco? Vanna was gone by the time I got there.

yes, we are different... while I adore his mischievous eyes, I'd rather purr softly in front of the fire while that incredible voice of his drifted down across me... I cried when he died... silly, but true... when I read Faulkner, it's Mr Foote's voice I hear

am glad you like the avatar -- it's my new favourite

Now, Looky here....Your higher level math skills have already caused one great loss, so this 'figgerin' yer doin' idn't gonna cut it.

74 times? Uh..er..I think it was just once. "lol, etc." yeah, right.

I think it's only fair that we DO count it as ONE, since I got it in the first try - Bravery should count for something, shouldn't it?

    Hypothesis Hell 101 Study Guide:

Let's look at this more closely. Help me with the logic, please:

"He's not on your Shelfari list."
    "Wrong."
"So, have you added him yet?"

[][][]You COULD have been thinking of adding him to your list but not gotten around to it yet?

I didn't see RB up there at the time I asked the question -- and with all of the books you've entered, it took a long time to research each male. (rofl)

And then, I didn't know whether to search for 'Famous Incarcerated Authors"....or "Actor Authors".......or "French incarcerated authors".....or "Dead French Actor Authors behind bars"....or any number of search terms that bounced around in my haid given your terse clues.

At the time, I wasn't sure about the French thingy, BV. lol

]]]]More baffling still, this exchange occurred AFTER you'd guessed right.

[][][][][More baffling STILL, is that at the TIME, I had no idea if I'd guessed correctly.

So, do I get to announce on Shelfari or somewhere that I've won?

    Blue Roses says

Are only francophones BVs in your world?
Er...no, BV. I was grasping for clues.
First guess: Is it R. Benchley?

    ]Not on your Shelfari list
    Wrong -
Ok -- Have you added him yet?

    ]Is he still alive?
See preceding hint: I'll say only that he's no longer a BV.
    Ok -- He's dead, then.

He made some movies. It may be a movie shot.
    Dunno.

Got any more non-obtuse hints? Like a specific book title or first and last name?

I think you should start a Discussion Forum somewhere called "Twenty Questions" --

I spent a very long time searching, then stopped to watch Times Square; came back and have been digging for the past hour.

Clues: Author, French vis-a-vis BV? (nice you remembered ;)
    Not on your Shelfari list

Give up some more hints: Is he still alive?
    Is he still in jail?
    Is that a movie shot?

Aside: I noticed one of your listings in Spanish?
