Technically, I'm not supposed to take anyone who hasn't finished 3/4 of the books by beginning of March. But, if you can finish them by the week we go to the Festival, that's fine (so, that's like the second week of April). Make sure your buddies are reading too!!!

    Hey,
All English Fest books in the school library are set aside at Mrs. Wetzel's desk...you have to ask for the books and she'll only let you take out one at a time. I got one out for Jenna last week. If you go to Ohio public libraries, they set their English Fest books on a seperate shelf too, so ask the librarian where they are located. I know that the Poland and Springfielf libraries have great selections for English Festival. Let me know for sure if you need help!!

So far I only have grades 7-9 going. The YSU guy will be letting me know this week and when we get 10-12 in we will not have to register until December...but it looks like you'll probably be going!

No, I don't have a Henshaw. And, I still don't know which Chelsea she is! We split up our studyhall into two classrooms, so I may not see her now, if she's in the other room. Tell her to come say HI!!!! So, how are you?

Such harsh words! It wasn't that terrible. A bit repetitive, yes, but it didn't suck all that much.

I know how you feel...honestly what helps is practice. Read it out loud to yourself or family a few times so you get used to the sound of it and the feel of the words. Is this for English?

I have to write it on the publication history of a 19th or 20th century best seller. I picked TO Kill a Mockingbird - which is why my 9th graders are reading it NOW! I really don't have a clue where to start...

Hey, glad to hear you got it done! So far, so good for me. My students seem like pretty good people for the most part - just like most of you were last year. You got off easy last year - I put into place some extra work and things this year. But, I'm mostly excited about my class at Westminster. I have to write a huge 20-25 page paper - but I have the chance to get it published and that will be big time for my future career...at the college level. Good luck on that paper - you know as well as I that you can do it.

What exactly is the assignment that you have to have done before school starts? Is it just to read? Give me the assignment due... Once school starts she might just give you an essay on the test. If you've read the book, you'll more than likely be able to answer the question! SO, you're doing fine so far. Plus, I'm sure there will be others going into the HOnors class who didn't read or only skimmed the books.
