I love to read, duh, which is why i jumped to this spot when a friend told me about it a couple of years ago. There are very few genres that I don't read. Stephen King is one author that I have never been able to get into for some reason. Recently, have been getting into Paranormal Romance. It's a way of taking me away from my everyday into... more »

Preston/Child writes with a bit of paranormal in the story. It's kind of like "light" horror although I wouldn't want to see it on film, I'd probably be covering my eyes! I like the Pendergast character quite a bit but you really need to suspend your disbelief and just go with the story. If you've enjoyed Iles (as I do), I'm fairly certain you'll like Preston/Child. I do recommend starting in the beginning but then I also do for books written in series. :-)

Stalk all you want! I try and give honest reviews in hopes that someone will read them! So far, you may be the only one! LOL I really enjoyed the Underground Gerneral Series by Larissa Ione and I just finished her new book about the Four Horsemen which has some of the same characters in it. If you like PR you will enjoy her writing. She's one of my favorite writers for character individuality and imagination. If you ever want to talk books I am at your beckon call... all I do is read, read, read, oh and a little house clean and child rearing!

Thanks. I read a lot. Obviously from my shelf it's most romance stuff but it's what I like the best. A book is so much better than what is on TV.

No much these days. I was sort of reading "Full Catastrophe Living" by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It is a great book for folks that deal with mental health issues. Whatchoo reading?

A while ago I tried to read the first book and didn't get into it, but I want to try it again - I heard the next books get better and with the series still going it must be good.

I love Christine Warren' Other Series, Christine Feehan has several series that I read and follow, Shelly Laurenston's aka G.A. Aiken has several series, Sherrilyn Kenyon also has several series, Lynsay Sands, Nina Bangs & Gena Showalter only has one series that I really enjoy so far - Tales of an Extraordinary Girl- Love Shiloh Walker, Lauren Dane. I could go on & on. Everyone has different likes ( I like a little spice with my reading) so if you check out my bookshelf you'll see alot of Ellora's Cave books.
Hope you enjoy at least one of these authors! Let me know.

It'a a good book--straight to the point about the alienation African American kids feel in America--particularly those from affluent homes.

As a psychotherapist and mother of 3 I found this an interesting and helpful read.

Hi! I am having a pretty good weekend. I had Friday off and started doing some yard work. In FL this is the time to plant some cool weather plants. Plus the weeds had about taken over with all the rain! Then on Saturday, I continued the effort and put down some mulch. Wow, are my muscles aching today. Not too much reading happening this weekend though because I also had to put in a few hours of work on Saturday (after cleaning off the garden dirt) and I've got to go in today for about 4 hours too. :-( I'll be looking for some time off at the end of this week I think so I can chill with my books.

I have been putting some time into organizing my shelf and adding some more (OMG) to my TBR which is just huge! I also changed my Avatar. This is my youngest grandson trying to tote a pumpkin that weighs almost as much as him. I needed a fall/halloween type picture so this looked good to me!

Hope your weekend is good too. Let me add a quick book recommendation - Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer. I listened to it and was so sorry when it ended. Great Book! I was not a big fan of Poisonwood Bible; didn't hate it but I loved Bean Trees and Pigs in Heaven and Bible was quite different. Summer was back to what I like most about Kingsolver's writing. If you try it, let me know what you think.
