Black Velvet Seductions -- well, we wanted a name that sounded seductive...erotic...adult...but classy and sophisticated because that's the kind of books we publish (though we do publish sweet romance as well as erotic.)
I have joined your group. :-)
it ws nice to knw dat u write as well... i too have tried my hands at writing many a short story... but mostly wat hapens is dat wen i reach d climax... i simply cant decide how to end it... n i get frustrated... i too feel irritated wen i cant make myself continue to write whenever i please. so some of my stories r just incomplete...
Sounds beautiful, dancing to Vivaldi. Keep up your good level and I hope you can bloom with that rather than having to dance to lesser music for any reason. Perhaps one day you will be the pioneer in this, dancing to classical music that has not been danced to yet. And congratulations about your success.
There is some truth in what you said about writing - but original need not mean something never done by anyone before. Every love is original, no one can love by copying. So it can happen with other creations too. And inspiration can come from higher sources when your mind is calm.
Science for instance - Einstein and his revolutionary theory, or even Newton in his day, were original. There is no way of proving no one had thought of it before, though, and there are indications in the case of Newton that there were people who had known some of it before.
When you read something let it go down a bit before you write, so what you do write won't be a copy. And if you take school assignments as challenges for your writing that will hone your facility.
Your school work is more important, I am sure everyone says that but it is true - my only regret is not storing or rewriting some of my school or exam work that was excellent and I should have immediately written again to store it for personal collection. Anyway, what I was telling you is maybe take every school assignment as a writing assignment, seriously, and keep a copy, and as for your personal writing take it easy. Write it when you feel the flow and not as an effort - turn the effort for school work into a challenge and a flow instead.
My reading slowed down as I went into high gear to finish recording my shelf on this site, writing down what I could remember about every book I read and liked. It is a pity there are so many I don't even remember and if I don't see the names on the site there is no way of recalling them.
Another just as frequent occurence is remembering the title and having read the book, and liked it, and loving the writer in general, but no clue as to which story connects to which title. It is a few decades since I read them too, and they are not available for ready reference.
Use reading as your relaxation, from school and other any stresses. That helps ultimately. So would any other channel you might have a connection to - art, music, whatever. Do you listen to classical music?
