    Hi Michelle,

I'm currently writing a story, and I was wondering if you could give a fellow writer some advice. I have my plot all worked out in my head, and I know what I want to do, but I'm currently stuck. I can't seem to get from Point A (where I'm at now) to Point B (where I want to go) Do you think you have some tips?

    Hi Michele,

We've got to keep meeting like this. My current work in progress is a new Rick Sage Mystery. Its working title is "Calafia", and involves the Calafian Amazons of Baja that Cortez was looking for when he "discovered" Baja California, Mexico. Rick finally finds them. Are they rich in gold and pearls? Well...you have to read the book when it is finished. :[)

What is your current WIP Michele? Can't wait...

I need to know if you’re my true friend,
will you be by my side until the end?
Can I tell you my secrets deep,
and trust them in your heart you’ll keep?
We are neither of us without our flaws,
can you accept mine as I will yours?
I’ll be a shoulder to cry on when you’re blue,
will you be there for me when I need you?
No matter how busy I will make time for you,
if you are busy will you make time for me too?
I will take your hand and comfort your tears,
will you hold me and soothe my fears?
I will give you joy and many warm smiles,
can we share that even across many miles?
I will not forget what’s important to you,
will you remember what’s important to me too?
With you my most favourite things I’ll share,
If only I know do you truly care?
If you can accept me as I do you,
then I will know you are a friend most true

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups-porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite -- telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said:
'Notice that all the nice looking; expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each others cups.

Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate we have.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything that they have.

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.. Thank the Lord for your blessings in 2008. And enjoy your hot chocolate!

    I like this message!

“The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything that they have!”

Here is hoping your day and week and month is better. I have been busy promoting my novel, Dangerous Love, 2010 A.D. and it's paying off. I just received my latest Chiller/Romance novel back from the editor and working on that. Hang in there and give me a shout if I can loan my shoulder. Your friend, Skip P.S. By the wau, my daughter baked some cookies I think is right up your alley. It was made with chocolate dough. She rolled the dough into small round shapes the pressed them down. She put an indentation in the center and placed a rollo candy. (Chocolate and caramel) then rolled it in pecans, then baked. If you don't have the recipe, I will get her to send it to you. Her name is Christina, and she is 26. Works for Johns Hopkins. If you haven't visited my web page, go to www.skipstover.com Skip
