Quotes:
"Sherry Thomas is the most powerfully original historical romance author writing today."
—Lisa Kleypas, New York Times bestselling author
"Rarely has anyone deserved the title of "rising star" as much as Sherry Thomas."
--The Courier Mail
"So if you've worried (as I have) about the future of historical romance, just remember
two words: Sherry Thomas."--TheRomanceReader.com
Hi, my name is Sherry Thomas and I write historical romances. Very good ones, I hope, as it would be rather awful to spend the best years of my life churning out mediocre books. :-)
I am a skeptic about love. And no, I don't think that is a strange attitude to have for someone who writes love stories. After all, it is a lot to ask readers to believe in a few hundred page that two strangers they'd never met before would gladly stick with each other through thick and thin for the rest of their lives. So I ask a lot from the book I write. They must convince me not only that Love is possible, but that love for this particular pair will be faithful, joyful, and lasting.
So far, it seems to have worked. My debut book, Private Arrangements, which came out in April of 2008, has been exceptionally well-received--starred reviews in Publishers Weekly and Library Journal, a Desert Isle Keeper review from All About Romance, and a five-star review from The Romance Reader, among many others.
My sophomore book, Delicious, which releases on July 29, is a Featured Top Pick by Romantic Times for August of 2008, and has Publishers Weekly gushing that it is "compelling," "scrumptious," and "impossible to resist."
Both Private Arrangements and Delicious have been selected by Doubleday and Rhapsody Book Club as featured alternates. And Recorded Books will produce both as audio books.
Both of them will be translated into Japanese, Russian, German, Spanish, Slovene and Turkish. Private Arrangments will also be translated into French.
If you enjoy historical romances, or just good stories well told, I hope you give my books a try. I like them-- and I'm just about the most demanding reader there is. :-)
