Despite the flaws in the characters, I enjoyed Guenevere which presents the Arthurian legend in an orginal way.

I enjoyed the lyrical descriptions in this novel and both sequels.

Angelique is a fast paced historical novel, the first of a series, which grips the reader not only because it is an enthralling tale of riches to rags but also because the research is impeccable, and so is that of the rest of the series.

My main gripe is that not all of the 'Angelique' novels have been translated into English.

  • The Borgia Bride

Written from the viewpoint of Sancha, sister-in-law of Lucrezia Borgia, this novel offers a fascinating insight into this period of history and offers some interesting answers to questions about the Borgia family.
