Read Laini Taylor's books!

I highly recommend that you read LA Meyer's Bloody Jack Adventures! Sail on, Jacky!

Yes, the Lord John series is a spin-off of The Outlander series. If you only read Outlander, then you haven't met Lord John yet. We meet him properly in Book 3, Voyager. He's in love with Jaime, but since Jaime can't reciprocate, they remain close friends. I really, really, really love Lord John. If you have the time, I highly recommend digging into the Outlander series. I couldn't stop once I started it, and I'm dying for book 8 to come out sometime next year.

I haven't actually finished reading it. I started it a while ago but life, work, and other books have gotten in the way. I just re-opened it again today, but I won't get much done until after I finish The Scottish Prisoner by Gabaldon which is out on Tues. Ive been waiting for a new Lord John book for a long time! I'm excited!

Hey Evie! Long time no chat. I just picked up the latest Bloody Jack and thought of you. I'm a little late, but finally getting around to reading it. I'm only about 5 chapters in, so it hasn't picked up yet. I'm looking forward to what Mayer is going to come up with for this one. I assume that you've devoured it already. How did you like it?

How about "A Discovery of Witches" or something really different called "The Atonement." That one was great and unique-not something either of us would normally read. You've got to give that one a chance at first. I'm just finished with George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" - whoa. Doesn't quite rival Tolkien but Martin is a master. It's hard to not want to read the rest of the books. Don't have that cable channel so I can't watch Sean Bean in the series.

Thanks for suggestions. I read a number of books at the same time also. I am reading the prequels to Shadowfever, Matched, and the new Anne Bishop book just came in. I guess I'll be reading for awhile. On your question, I love Clockwork Angel. I've read it twice so far. I loved Cassandra Clare's previous trilogy, but this first book hits me a bit more. Don't know why. I'll probably read it again before the next book comes out. :)

I would like to suggest reading THE ENDLESS HOUR- The True Story of a Haunted Soul.I completed publication
    in November 2010.

Over eighteen years in the making,THE ENDLESS HOUR is about an illustration I created in 1988 that became
reality two years later, which involves a spiritual death experience.

This touching and terrifying true story is not only about me.It is also about... you.

For more information go to theendlesshour.com. Once you enter the website you can watch the book video and
read reviews. You may also want to visit amazon.com and read the first seven chapters of THE ENDLESS HOUR.

    Thanks,
    Jesse

I loved all the twists. Her thinking she was the concubine, then the king, but not really sure about it all. I was in heaven with all that speculation. Shadowfever definitely filled in all the gaps, yet left just enough that I'm okay if it doesn't go on. (I suspect we'll be getting more info on Dani and maybe Christian in some sort of series spin off.)

To answer your question though, I don't think it's in Barrons to be tender. He's not a tender guy. I don't think I want him to be either. I think it's the little glimpses of softness that make him more Barrons. The rare smiles and laughs are all that more great because they're so rare. I wouldn't want to loose the novelty of it. He does show that he loves Mac. He protects her, saves her, and he lets her into his "world." I also don't think Mac wanted tenderness from him either.
