All these books are on my shelves. Many may say a large chunk of them are populist junk, which i seem to recall is how Dickens came to be so well known. i enjoy being steered in new reading directions, usually by the "Ooh what's that about?" mode. Don't try and push me somewhere, I prefer to stumble. Please leave out the trip wires though. ...more »

Hmm, I've never heard of the Giles cartoons before. What are they about, exactly?

I do love the crime/forensics stuff! I don't have time to check that out tonight, but I will definitely try to take a look tomorrow. Thanks!

Maybe starting at the beginning would make a bit of difference. I've never read anything by Cornwell. Is she any good?

The first one was Deja Dead. Is that the one you started with? Bare Bones is either book 6 or book 7 I think. If you started with it, that could explain why you couldn't get into it.

I wanted to try to read Kathy Reichs because I like the television show, Bones, based on her Temperance Brennan series. I have heard that she's very technical though and was wondering whether that would affect me liking her books. As for Stephen King, I thought some of the "horror" stuff was way overrated, but when I started The Dark Tower series, it made me see him in an entirely different light.
