I just joined my third book club - just can't get enough! Salman Rushdie and Sandra Cisneros are my absolute favorites. I love to read all kinds of books, though History, Science Fiction and Latin American lit are my favorites.

    This book was perfect for me since I have always wanted to learn more about philosophy, but I have a hard time getting much out of the actual texts. It was fascinating, though the end got a bit convaluted. Really cool!

    I would never have picked this up on my own, but I'm glad my book club picked it. It was an absorbing story. It made me want to learn more about that time period.

    This book is amazing. The language is so precise and beautiful. I've gone back to read it again and again. The descriptions are vivid and the characters seem real in these intertwined stories. The structure made me think of the Canterbury Tales. You can understand the book without going to the glossary, but I loved learning so many details about Indian history, literature, and music
