Oh dear...I've entered that 25-35 age group. *sigh* That doesn't stop me from acting about twelve with my friends and making my husband shake his head in amusement/exasperation just about everytime we go out. I'm a Wiccan from MI now living in Wales. Reading is just one of my passions...crafting, conventions and writing are the others. (And my... more »

The great thing about a book that shows up out of nowhere is that you have no expectations. I wasn't sure what I would think when I read the blurb but I found that I got into it very quickly. I can't wait for the next book now!

There are a few things in this book that I find very interesting. There are more things that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up. If you're interested in this book I would advise you to remember that you can be a witch without being a Wiccan. Too many people today make that mistake. Witchcraft outdates Wicca by a ridiculous amount of time so don't go around spouting off about the morality of the author. That being said, I would not reccomend this book for a beginner Wiccan because they might not have come to grips with their own ethics yet and may not be able to disregard the older, more dangerous spells presented.

Completely lost me after the first book. Plus, I saw the author in an interview and he annoyed me.

The lowest rating any LJ Smith book will ever have. It was just WRONG. It didn't matter that the series would have ended on a downer because it would have been true to the characters. Bringing Elena back was a disgrace.

Writers don't always pull off hot & steamy at the same times as hopelessly romantic. Karen Marie Moning can.

I'm going to have to come back to this one. I tried to read it but kept going back on myself. I found Dickens extremely witty-bordering on sarcastic-but had difficulty following the story.

Dare I say that this is THE perfect addition to any witch's bookshelf?

This book is AMAZING. Thank you, thank you to Ellen Dugan for such a moving, inspirational book on the subject. I got a newfound love of the subject and the holiday after reading this book. I re-read it again this year when the time came 'round and I found it just as much fun as the first time. I actually CRIED reading this, I was so touched. I love this book.
