I enjoy reading, and try to divide my reading time between brain candy and things more substantial. I have a BA in History, and began working my way through the Library of American's collection in the past few years. I'm currently onto various Presidents and am looking forward to reading more. I also love zombies... go figure... and not too...more »

My BA is in history - Medieval and Renassaince Europe. I'm also into the American Civil War, the Victorian Era, Titanic... you know, if I listed all of the times and historical things I'm into this post would be too long, hehe. I should be getting my degree in about a year and then I can start my exciting career at (hopefully) the NYS Archives. Or the State museum. Or anyone who'll hire me, really.

That's very kewl! Are you going for your grad degree or just trying to get a job with your BA? And when you say history, which place/era was your specialty?

Hey, I saw you like zombies. Did you know about this series by Peter F. Hamilton called the "Night's Dawn Trilogy". I own it, but havn't read it yet, but it's a huge space opera series with zombies, can you believe it. I can't wait to read this series too, Bryan.

It's too bad that you didn't like Titan, Oh well. If you look at the club page now, there are many more books listed. You may want to try the two Dostoevsky novellas, the two short C.J. Cherryh books (Cherryh is one of my new favorite authors), and I loved "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Suzanna Clarke. Also listed now is a cool Charles Stross book as well as a huge series by Lois McMaster Bujold that I'm about a quarter of the way through now. I also listed some more literature books like "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote which I'm about 2/3 done with and it's a great book too. Just check out the bookclub page and you may find some other books to try and read. Good luck, Bryan.

Hi, yeah I've read it and I really enjoyed it, a real page turner! I'm not too sure as to how historically accurate it is but as a story it works very well and the characters and settings are very believable. Hope this helps.
