Although English and literature were always my best subjects in school, I never really enjoyed reading. That all changed when I got a job at a bookstore. How much easier it is to sell and recommend books when you actually have read them! I was hooked from then on.

Now, years later, I work for a publishing house and still love to read. more »

Thoroughly was impressed by it. It's a rough read if you can't take what you learn about other animals who don't make it out. I can loan you my copy...it's signed by Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman...long story. Hope you are doing well!

    Hi WodieGirl!

I thought you may be intersted in a new group I started yesterday. It's all about book titles and categories and of course playing and reading. If you are interested, please take a look here: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/36069/about

    Happy reading!

    Every Last Cuckoo.
This is really not a medical condition. I just read the book and would highly recommend it.

May be too far off the mark, but what about Harvesting the Heart by Jodi Picoult? Or try searching virus or plague on Shelfari to find a book that fits your need. What about Love in the TIme of Cholera?

    Hey Julie,
Definitely start with A Walk in the Woods...his opus. It's his travels with his old friend from Iowa through the Appalachian Trail. It's hilarious. Then go for either Notes from a Small Island (UK travel), Neither Here Nor There (European travel), or A Sunburndt Country (Australia). Enjoy!

    Hi,
It has been a while since I read Jean Plaidy, but they were my first historical fictions. They got me addicted, it is definitely my favorite genre. I would definitely recommend them- they have more interaction of the characters then The Other Queen. Phillippa Gregory has other good historical fictions, as well, as does Alison Weir.

Thank you, Wodie. The next novel is very different. I just signed with the oldest literary agency in the country. I am hopeful that that means I may actually have a literary career in the future. I've been through Nashville once. I had a friend who grew up in Sherman, Texas. We drove from there through Arkansas and on up to Massachusetts where we were both living at the time.

Thank you for your response about The Scarlett Letter. Your response helped to convince me that the book probably will interest me and I have now ordered the book. Thanks again.

Dear Wodie: Which publishing house do you work for. I had my debut novel published in April (HUNTING THE KING) and recently signed with a NY literary agency for my next novel. So, hopefully, things are moving in the right direction.
