Hi all!

I'm a 28 year old Young Adult/AV Librarian as my full time job and I work in a teen department of another library, part time. I love reading mostly adult books, of the contemporary fiction variety, but I also read some YA stuff. I'm extremely picky when it comes to books and I pride myself in having good taste (or so I think). ... more »

Have you started The Girl Who Stopped Swimming yet? Eh. It sounded really good, but I thought it was all over the place and there was very little about the girl...Let me know what you think after you read it. We do have a lot in common-I check your shelves for ideas a lot!

    Ratings????
Okay, you'll have to give me a tutorial on that.
I have a hard time staying on top of just posting them to the shelf!
Tender Morsels ( as opposed to Tasty) is a very very dark fantasy- moves between two worlds and also the world of bears. Worlds apart in time, worlds of humans and bears, all getting mixed up with each other.
Some of it was TOUGH to read- this is not a pleasure read - I think it is considered to be very literary.

Hi Brian! You're right, I really should take advantage of the ratings feature. I really don't log in here as much as I should.

I thought Before they Know Kindness was OK - it sort of lost my interest as it went on.

Have you read anything especially good lately that you can recommend?

Being a Laurie Notaro fan, I was wondering what you thought of her latest book. I couldn't put it down! Extremely funny! Particuarly the "Extended Warrenty...." chapter! Ranks up there with one her best!

    Brian,

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I'm really glad you are enjoying the books. Black Out will not feature Ridley, but hopefully you will find it as intriguing.

    All the best!

Hi from a fellow librarian. I found a lot of titles on your list that I can share with my 13 y.o. son. Also, may I recommend Elinor Lipman to you? Her best are The Inn at Lake Divine and The Dearly Departed.
