I've had four novels published through WaterBrook Press (a division of Random House) and six more with Thomas Nelson, Inc. My novel based on the hit film FIREPROOF was a NY Times bestseller for 17 weeks.

When I walk in a room, I can't help but overhear conversations and pick up on others' moods. My heart beats for the downtrodden and the outcast. I love the fringes of society. Sometimes, I wish I could turn all this off in my head, so that I could numbly go through a day without getting burdened with others' concerns. Impossible. Which is why I write, I suppose.

I've been married for 22 years, and have two grown daughters. « less
