I suggest you move the Carver on your "Plan to Read" list up to numero uno. And get the December 24/31, 2007 issue of The New Yorker--in it, you'll read a FACINATING article about Carver's relationship with his editor, Gordon Lish, AND you'll read an uncut version of a classic story.
