I have loved books since reading the phenomenal masterpiece 'Sheep In a Jeep' when I was four years old. I live in the New Jersey Suburbs, within walking distance of the train to New York and my local library, where I work as a page. Everything he says is true, and that makes me furious. I'm a dedicated liberal, and the injustices done by the Republican Party anger me to no extent. And while I admit the Democratic Party isn't always the shining light it is put up to be, I still feel we are the lesser of two evils.

One of the greatest mysteries I've ever read. Kept me guessing until the surprising end.

It was a bit tough getting through this one. Hopefully the following books are more interesting.

Very clever 'what-if' that is absurd to consider but who cares?

Great Italian novel in the tradition of Donna Leon and Umberto Eco. The embarrassing death of a local government official puts Montalbano on the case. The detective is terrific. It's like Columbo, Julia Child and Clint Eastwood were put into a blender and pureed together. Spectacular.

A government housing inspector suffers a suspicious fall. Brunetti must discover what the accident has to do with a student's drug overdose and Venice's loan-sharks.

An act of vandalism by Brunetti's wife sets into motion a series of events that leads to the death of an unsavory travel agent and factory owner. Brunetti soon finds himself involved in a conspiracy involving sex tourism and the pharmaceutical industry. The latest Leon novel is one of my favorites, with plenty of dialogue, action, and twists.

A ring on a dead boy's corpse puts Brunetti in pursuit of a long-lost kidnapper. Not my favorite, but still great.

Brunetti digs deeper into a Roman secret society that is connected to a series of nursing home deaths. Dark and chillingly real.
