Basically an island boy. I live in the city but I see it through his eyes. My best asset is my sobriety. I love a certain cat. If I had my druthers I would probably play the guitar all day a lot of days. Lately I've been reading comics. My wife is a librarian and a gardener and a great person. I love singing in my fabulous choir at my... more »

If you like this book you should read "Discovering the Mysteries of Ancient America", edited by Frank Joseph!

Actually the Band "Silverchair" got their name from the book "the Silver Chair". So there is a connection.

This is my favorite Connie Willis book and I recommend it to everyone! It has some of the funniest scenes you will find anywhere! Describes some great uses for duct tape too!

This book explains how to take an active role in your spiritual practice so that you evoke God in your experience of life. It was very meaningful to me and has stayed with me. I go back and read from it again and again.

I loved this book but found Jonathan to be a most unlikely character based on my own observations of seagulls. The seagulls in the animated film, "Finding Nemo" were more on target I think.

The case studies in this book give a better feel for how our limiting beliefs limit us in our lives than any other book I have read. It also illustrates very well that simply by having changed to an empowering belief, a person's whole life opens up like a flower.

I was blessed to be allowed in the room with Doe while she was drawing. As long as I was utterly silent and saved my questions until she was taking a break she let me watch her draw. Because of this I learned to draw quite well myself and have found hours of enjoyment using pen and ink to draw trees and water and islands. As an adult I have also spent hours with her talking of everything under the sun and doodling happily together. She has an amazing mind and a giant heart and I love her to pieces!

This is one of the best fantasy series I have ever read and a wonderful reinterpretation of the Arthur myth.
