Vampires, Witches & Were’s all that
would like to invite you to participate in the ABC contest starting on July 1, 2008.
I will post a thread that has the letters of the ABC's list, then start your own thread for example mine would be Sherry's ABC's and list the books that you read with those letters has the first letter in any title of book, it doesn't have to be in the genre either. Each person will be responsible for sending me their points via the group email at vampireswitchesweresallthat@yahoo.com. For every book you read during the time period (until the next letters are posted) you will receive 10 points in the email you must list the title, author, and pages so that if there is tie, we will use page count to break the tie. Everyone is eligible to win, even admin's as a third party will be keeping track of the points for me...so post the books you read...I will post the first letters on July 1.

    As always happy reading..
Show me the books he loves and I shall know the man
far better than through mortal friends.

So guess what?! Jacqueline Carey is coming to Portland for a booksigning! Okay, I was SOOO excited I screamed and jumped up and down and then realized there is NO WAY I can make it! Talk about DISAPOINTING! But I have a class early Wednesday and the booksigning is Tuesday evening in Beaverton. Well, if I took the car for the afternoon I'd have to pick Jeff up at 7:30, his lunch break. Otherwise I have to get him at 1:30 am. And I would maybe consider doing that even though I wouldn't get much sleep, but that on top of bringing Phaedra to a booksigning with most likely an extremely long line, is just too much. If I had someone who could go with, or even better, drive, then I would. But Nikky's not available and no one else sounded interested in doing it. So I don't think I'll be making it :( so freakin' sad I could cry :( and cry, and cry:(
Thought I'd share though. Oh, and I can't afford the book. You have to buy the book for her to sign. Oh well, maybe I'll meet her another time. I even had the whole conversation in my head, although I would probably be so amazed at meeting her I would be speechless, but I was gonna see if she would sign a bookmark for you. I even thought of you! I was gonna tell her how you told me about the books like the day after we decided to name Phaedra, Phaedra. Anyway, I gotta go nighty night.
    loves ya.

    Birthday- June 29.
Paperbackswap is a website where you post any books your ready to get rid of and then people request them and you mail it to them at your own cost (a little more then $2 usually) and then you get a credit so you can pick out a book for someone to send to you. I have a big ol' long wish list and when the books come in they let me know. I've gotten rid of tons of books through that and so usually have alot of credits. Its turned out to be really great for me. And you keep the books, you don't have to send them back or anything! The only thing is they don't always have the book you want in. The more popular books are almost impossible to get cause there's such a long waiting list.
I'm hoping that for my birthday my mom or someone will get me an amazon gift card so I can get Kushiels Mercy. Thats the only one I have left to read but it just came out and like you said before, its kinda expensive. I think it was $25 at Borders. I guess its not a huge hurry though. I could wait a few months and then might be able to find it used. I've tried to spread this series out cause I love it so much and don't want it to end. I sent Evie Kushiels Dart so hopefully she'll get an opportunity to read it and will love it as much as we do. The second book is definetly my favorite though!
    luv ya too!

Yeah, you should put it (Halfway to the Grave) on your TBR and after you read it and if you like it then you should read The Anita Blake books. They are very different, but yet similar. I have another series I've recently discovered also, its The First Sign of the Zodiac and it has another title, but thats the first book in the series and its on my shelf I added it fairly recently. I got it from the library but I'm thinking I'm gonna order the rest either from paperbackswap or somewhere else. I have more then enough to read for now, but I definetly like that series and I think you would too. Check out the info, it has some unexpected twists to it so its not so predictable. It took me awhile to get used to the weirdness, cause its our world, but just different, ya know? And it takes place in Las Vegas, not that it matters.
I love ordering books. I found when I go to the bookstore I tend to feel too guilty to buy them new, so I wait and wait to find it used. But if I order it then I don't feel so guilty. Go figure. I also love it when I check the mail and there are more books!!! The last several days there's been books everyday, thanks to paperbackswap!
We're over at Jeffs mom and dads. Jeff got a new guitar and I got a new ipod video player thing for my birthday. Its still a couple weeks away, but once I new what I wanted then Jeff told me to just get it. Its nice for when I'm cleaning houses cause I always listen to music, but when I go to another part of the house I can't hear it, also with this I can download books and listen to those. I just need a band to hold it on my arm. I'm really excited though! I can't wait to go home and get on rapsody and get a ton of music!
Don't party too hard! luv ya girl!

Hi Meredith. Thanks for the friendship invite. To answer your quesiton in the post, the last vampire books I've read were actually the latest 3 in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands: The Accidental Vampire, Vampires Are Forever, and Vampire, Interrupted. Loved them all!

    Hoi Wildmere,
Thank you for your tip. I have never heard from this author. Will keep my eyes open for it. Only, I hate drama and real life things. I hope it isn't one of those.
    Enjoy your reading.

ok, so I'm a member of a zillion groups but the two I'm most active in is Play Book Tag (definetly join!) and the vampires, witches, weres and all that. I like the Great Green gobs of good (its about green living) and get on once in awhile. The rest of my groups I really haven't been active in awhile. I tend to focus on one of two groups at a time. You should post to more discussions on vampires... love to hear your opinion on stuff!
I"m texting you now. Crazy. Sending you a message on here, and texting you. Just can't get enough of you! Its kinda depressing cause my family left today. Tomorrow we go to Jeffs brothers for a bbq in Yacolt. (Remember the first time we went to Yacolt with Jeff and how crazy we thought the town was? That was 8 years ago!) Monday morning we gotta pack up to a motel for Monday night while they redo our bathroom floor and a wall that got water damage. Its a REALLY nice motel though! So it should be fun. And it has wi-fi! Yay! Don't have miss out on my shelfari addiction!
