    In Lancaster Pa with Robert. We're on a road trip through PA, started in Pittsburgh Sat and went to a baseball game Sat nite. Visited frinds in Altoona, yesterday in Hershey
    went horseback riding at a friends farm, headed for cheese steaks in Philly today...sorry to hear about the wrist, "Stinky and Itchy" (c'mom, it itches too, admit it!) is the new name you should have chosen...you'll have to explain the new moniker to me off line...(my imagination is going places with it here, can't you tell?)

    S'up Woman? My kid just made a travel soccer team....good thing cause all I seemed to do for the last two weeks or so was drive him around Fairfax County for his tryouts!!!! Found parts of the county I never knew existed!!!! And no, I haven't been reading anything new....but I've been writing, will share soon! Headed to a week's road trip with Robert Saturday morning...Both of us are so psyched for this!!! We're taking our bikes and spending a couple of days in Amish country in Lancaster PA and then (oh, also baseball game in Pittsburgh Sat nite, friends in Hershey with a horse farm) Chadds Ford for more biking and hanging out in my old home town, Philly! Yay!!!

    The wedding yesterday was FANTASTIC....took one of my best friends, also a coach, and we had a blast. Reception was out past Winchester and the party was great! One thing though...it takes me longer to recuperate the morning after!!! LOL!!

    Going to a friend's daughter's wedding out in the Blue Ridge...so glad the rain's let up for her-sweet girl, and a photographer like me. Haven't met the groom yet but my friend says he's a prince!

    Will send you a personal note about the email I got yesterday from the woman I told you about...strange how stuff turns out!

    I'm sorry, but, as Jill says below, I don't see any shared reading context between your shelf and the rest of the membership. I sent you a private email explaining this after your first application, but you must not have gotten it. While I am miffed at you for interloping, the rejection is not personal. I'd appreciate your accepting this "no" and moving on to groups with which you have something in common, and can actively contribute to the discussions.

    One requirement for membership in AA is a thorough grounding in British literature, and the members have a kind of language, or lingo, based on that shared canon of books. Most members have at least 50 British books on their shelves. It isn't anything personal. There are several people in the group who have read three times the Brit-lit that I have, and I confess I have to go to Wikipedia to look up a lot of their references! You're going for a broad expansion of your reading and that's REALLY cool. I am sure you bring a great deal of knowledge to the children's lit group--an area of literature that I really respect and treasure myself.
