A great book, but you have to get through lots of cheese before you hit the good stuff.

An excellent story. Provoked great discussion at book club.

An excellent collection of short stories, full of humanity. A warning: not a single one of them is a picker-upper.

I liked this more than I thought I would. I'm not certain I agree entirely with the Eldredges' construction of womanhood, but some significant parts of their characterization resonated with me. I read Captivating on recommendation, and I think I'd recommend it to others.

This book is worth a chuckle in places, but there was little substance to keep me reading. A bit more suspense would have made this a more valuable read.

Liebow does an excellent job of telling the stories of these women while exploring the common causes and roadblocks of their homelessness. This was a very valuable text to me in my initial exploration of what it means to be homeless, and I would recommend it to anyone seeking a good anecdotal explanation of the problem.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. While not everything McKinley says is earth shattering, I finished the text having taken away some seriously relevant nuggets of truth - and food for thought.

Neville has crafted each detail with such care, I sat on the edge of my seat through the whole book. And it's rare for me to be interested in any fiction that involves historical detail. A "can't put it down" read.

While this book does make some important points regarding Schwarzenegger's rise to fame, Indiana does not fight to hide his bias. He would have been wiser to hold back on some of his sarcasm.
