I'm trying to find Lesbian Nun's in the store but it's really hard to find it in Brazil...

But I'd really like to read this book.

Have you ever heard about a brazilian author called Érico Veríssimo ?

He's great, if you like history.

Hi MJ! Great to have you back in circulation here. I'm a few chapters into VILLETTE but I'm not readind rightnow as I'm a bit tied up during this month of fasting. And I haven't even started with Forbidden Fruit as yet, but the back info says smthing like- only one man knows the sins and secrets of the three generations of those women....hmmmm, sounds interesting. I'm promised a fast-paced and moving read I think!

Hey Mj! I noticed this Erica Spindler called 'see jane die' on your shelf. How it was like? Did you like it? Actually I happened to pick 'Forbidden Fruit' by the same writer but haven't started yet, so I just wanted to know a little! ?

Alrite! then it would be kite runner for me! But it'd tktime before I get myself round it cuz first I've to finish what I'm currently reading. Afterwards I plan to pore over 'VILLETTE' (another classic) that I happened to buy recently. Once I'm done I'll certainly go for your recommendation!
MJ, letme tell you Gone With The Wind is a great ,riveting read. It is set in America, under turmoil of civil war... still not a hint of boredom around it. It only provides such a massive background to the ever -green love story of Rhett n Scarlet. You'll fall in love with this book immidiately....trust me! It's really what I call extraordinary :)

Believe me Mj! once, I lend this book ''Jane Eyre'' to one of my cousins in the hope of introducing her to the joy of reading and when I got it back ,it's edges were a lil soiled and some kind of make-up on its spine...I couldn't makeout whether it was lip color or eye makeup! LOL
About those two K.H.'s that you mentioned ,I have heard a lot about them . A number of newspapers are full of their positive reviews . I always wanted to pick up Kiterunner but haven't so far. And the other's title sounds so beautifully intriguing! Tell me which one should I go for first?
I have a palate for classics, I'm crazy bout them. So if I could recommend you a classic it'd be Thomas Hardy's JUDE THE OBSCURE .Have you read 'Gone with the Wind'?

Hi Mj! How are you doing? I think taking care of our books doesn't mean that we're greedy. It's only that we are careful and protective towards our expensive, highly-priced books. These days I'm workin my way through Oscar Wilde's '' the picture of Dorian Gray''. I like it a lot so far! What are you reading rightnow?

Thanks for adding me as a friend! I hope we can exchange book recomendations.
Firstly, I will recommend you "A Thousand Splendid Suns", from the same author of "The Kite Runner". And if you like a different kind of humour Try "Mere Anarchy" from Woody Allen.

I apologize for any english mistakes, I live in Brazil and I'm still learning.

    Cheers,

    Felipe

To answer Qs on your mind:

AR is both novelist and philosopher. A prolific writer, Rand produced fiction and non-fiction works tackling her philosophical framework, i.e. Objectivism, and took positions on metaphysics, epistemology, politics, and art. She demonstrated these through the characters in her novels (e.g. John Galt in her great Atlas Shrugged). Her ideas may be young compared to those ancient philosophers and early existentialists but Rand is undeniably one of the great contemporary philosophers.

Anyway, putting Rand on the same plane as Kurt VONNEGUT is disagreeable on my part. They came from different disciplines.

    So there, enjoy Shelfari! :D

    Hi Mj,

I have only read her book anthym. And, yes, she is more of a philosophist(sort of in the same way as Kurt Voniget). Capitalist in her views. And yes, thank you for your request:)
