About me
I used to be a compulsive reader, now I am reader by compulsion. :-)
My reading historyThe earliest book that I vaguely remember reading was a book titled -
The Magic Gate. After that it was the usual comics - Harvey, Walt Disney and the like. When I was in 4th std my father presented me -
Six cousins at Mistletoe farm and I was hooked to a life time of Enid Blyton. I still remember giggling while reading
Circus of Adventure - my second Enid Blyton book. Enid Blyton is still one of my favorite authors, despite her being labeled sexist and racist.
Then my reading
evolved? as any other teenager in India to include
James Hadley Chase, Alistair Maclean, Harold Robbins, Denise Robins, Arthur Hailey and so on. I guess that my reading pretty much follows the 'popular' books of the given period, which include Rowling and Dan Brown.
Some of my favorite authors are
P. G. Wodehouse,
Mary Westmacott (Agatha Christie); somehow I couldn't stand
Ayn Rand and I've read only
Fountainhead. These days I find it difficult to list anyone as favorite, because each author probably produces only a few books. But I did love all the Harry Potter books.
My reading is mostly fiction, though I have tried some non-fiction, philosophy etc.
