  • Sizzling Seduction (Kimani Romance)
    • Rated 5 stars

In Sizzling Seduction Patrick Hightower is literally blown away by the prim and proper kindergarten teacher Aisha Miller. The attraction is so intense and explosive Patrick goes all out on a campaign to win the reluctant Aisha’s heart. Even though Aisha is feeling the sexy fireman she is fighting him every step of the way. But little does she know, Patrick has the tenacity of a bulldog! And will stop at nothing to win her over even if it means becoming an ally with Aisha’s adorable ten-year-old son Dillon!

What I enjoyed most about this story was Patrick’s determination to show Aisha she and her son deserved to be part of a loving and caring family. And that love should never hurt. Kudos Ms. Bolton for addressing the issue of domestic violence in a well to do, professional family.

Finally, it was a pleasure to revisit with the cast of characters from the previous stories. Carla is still a hot mess and funny as all get out. And Aunt Sophie’s secret nearly knocked me over! It certainly explains all her years of being downright nasty and mean. I must admit I’m so sad to see this series end. Ms. Bolton has done a wonderful and outstanding job. This definitely is a series I will reread over and over again.

If you’re looking for a very satisfying, sit on the edge of your seat, can’t put the book down read…then Sizzling Seduction is for you!

I was anxiously anticipating the third book in the Heart Series. Well...it was definitely worth the wait! I don't know where to begin from fear of giving away the story. In this story the reader learns a great deal about Cynthia Thornton and why she comes across as downright snobbish (that's putting it mildly.) In addition, a new cast of characters is introduced to continue the saga of romance, politics and government corruption. Iris Bolling has done it again! She's crafted a wonderfully, entertaining story that will keep you turning page after page.

    No One But You

    by Maureen Smith
    • Rated 5 stars

No One But You is the first title I've read by Maureen Smith. And I must say I was not disappointed. This mystery romance had me turning page after page wanting to know what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved the interaction between Althea and Damien both professionally and romantically. Reading their story, I can honestly say I now see how folks in law enforcement end up dating, falling in love and marrying. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.

I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a lot of insight into the world of a biracial woman living in the 1920s struggling with her identity. The author did a wonderful job taking the reader through the emotional ups and downs of the female protagonist. At times I felt myself frustrated and then later feeling pity for Helga Crane. This was a wonderful read. I'm looking forward to reading Passing.

This book was so good. I found myself empathizing with both Cameron and Caitlin. I totally understood her fears and his frustrations. I'm not going to go into detail or I might give the story away. Please trust me, if you're a Francis Ray fan you'll love this one. And even if you're not, you'll still love it!

AlTonya Washington is one of my favorite romance authors. I was not disappointed with her first historical romance. It was an excellent read.

  • Bring on the Blessings
    • Rated 5 stars

Bring on the Blessings was such an enjoyable read. I could not put this book down. All of the characters were very likable...well except Cletus, Riley and the crooked banker. I found Bernadine to be a very strong, loving, yet no nonsense woman. Her dedication to breathing life into the small Kansas town, providing for its citizens and a group of foster children with some serious issues was heartwarming. I did not want this story to end. If your looking to be thoroughly entertained do not pass up your blessing...Bring on the Blessings is waiting for you.

This was my first Ann Christopher novel. Well, let me just say I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved Viveca's & Andrew's story of revenge, family secrets & lies. I found myself eagerly turning page after page to see what was coming next. I can't wait for Eric's story!
