This is a FANTASTIC book about abuse and the cycle of it. It should be required reading by everyone even contemplating a relationship.

While I enjoyed this book and I think the author was onto something at taking complex theological precepts and making them readily accessible, I have a fundamental difference of opinion on some of those precepts (i.e., the author asserts in the novel there is no evil; that all is good.)

That said, it was a very interesting read. I wondered how he'd reconcile a major plot point, and he found a way.

I expected a book about the time during which the author was in Heaven. The majority of this one is about a horrific accident and the long and very painful recovery and the spiritual transformation that occurred during that time.

It wasn't so much what I expected, but I found what it was very much inspired.

And I have to say that when you're feeling as if the world is knocking you to your knees, reading the story of man laid out on his back for what had to seem like an eternity sure helps you regain appropriate perspective.

An unexpected surprise was the frankness with which this pastor discussed his depression and desire to die because of the constant and intense pain. And how in the stillness--when he finally got there--he found God there with him.

I loved that part--and I'd recommend this book.

Enchanting. A testament to the ability of past wounds to heal. I love this and hope Elizabeth Sinclair makes it a very long series. It's magic!

Elizabeth Sinclair could jerk emotion out of a stone much less out of mere mortals--and boy does she in this book. And how refreshing it was to see accurately depicted tribal customs!!! Vicki Hinze www.vickihinze.com
