    Dear Veekay S !
Greetings , Thanks for your nice note in which you asked if , I was busy.
For decades,I have dedicated myself for Promotion of Urdu language and Urdu literature all over the World.
I and Sabiha Saba ( Author of four Urdu poetry books , Senior poetess , writer , journalist , founder & chief editor of URDU MANZIL http://www.urdumanzil.com ) are fairly occupied in arranging International Mushairai / Literary Functions / Urdu Conference etc. for promotion, proper development, progress of Urdu everywhere without , disturbing the use / teaching of English which is also a very important language internationally.
What I am always stressing is that , from the beginning / class one / standard one , the students may be taught English but , it does not mean that URDU may be neglected.THEREFORE , URDU MUST ALSO BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS from First Standard / Class One (from beginning OR from start of education of any child ( boy or girl ).
We might visit Pakistan,India,Bangladesh,KSA,Bahrain,Qatar,Kuwait,Oman, USA,Canada,European and other countries for the future Urdu programs.

    Pak poets hold condolence meeting
By M. A. Qudoos (Abu Dhabi Deputy Bureau Chief)

    31 December 2007

KALBA — Pakistani poets and writers in the UAE held a condolence meeting and offered fateha for Benazir Bhutto at the Indian Social and Cultural Club here on Thursday.

Saghir Ahmed Jafri of Urdu Manzil web site thanked the officials of the Indian club for allowing them to hold the meeting at their premises.

He said that Urdu Manzil had planned a reception at the club on Thursday to welcome visiting prominent poets Aqeel Abbas Jafri from Karachi and Qudsia Jafri from Peshawar, and to bid farewell to popular and senior Pakistani poet Shafiq Salimi, who is leaving the UAE after living here for more than two decades.

The event was later turned into a condolence meeting on hearing the news of Benazir’s death in Rawalpindi a few hours ago.

The meeting was presided over by Shafiq Salimi.

    Shock expressed

Poets, writers, journalists, editors and media representatives present at the meeting expressed their shock and grief on the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

A condolence resolution was passed and fateha offered on the occasion.

The resolution condemned the assassination of former Pakistani prime minister and PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and termed it a national tragedy.
