So I am here, just to overcome that feeling that I am nothing. But now I am thinking that would it make any difference if I've been able to prove my existence??? I've read somewhere and now I'm changing it little bit that ".....at some point something should come out of nothing..." So this mean I've to wait... more »

Thank u very much Umair! :)

I was very sad to learn that u all didn't get a visa to visit Chandigarh. :( Hope this painful situation end and we all can visit each other's country easily. We can only pray...and of course can work towards restoring peace!!

    Best,

Walaikum Salam. I have taken a few weeks' leave from work and I am at home. I see you are reading pretty heavy stuff. I read Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. I preferred The Da Vinci Code, although this book is also exciting. I also read Ghost Girl, about an abused child. I like playing word games in the Words and Quotes group. Are you studying for MBA?

    Hi! Umair,

I'm really sorry for the delayed reply. But, that day, I didn't sleep till I got ur msg that u and ur family r safe. Thank God! I'm greatly relieved!! In fact, I had appealed to other members to give me any info on u if they received one. You can check it in the list of prayers.

I too am stunned to read ur conversation with ur friends. I'm speechless! You are right, we have begun to live with it, hv begun to get used to it! NO! We just can't live with human tragedies, we just can't get used to it! I think people like us can sensitise people around us in whatever way we find.

I read ur story too. You write so well, Umair! I'm proud of you!! I liked the story a lot, liked ur style a lot.

Pl take care and God forbid, there's any such incident in Lahore then pl leave a not for me confirming ur well-being.

    Warm wishes,
    Nandi

    Hey! Umair,

Thanks for accepting my invite. I'm sure we would have a lot to exchange. I started reading Satanic Verses when I was in England, but could hardly read a few pages, didn't come up to the controversial part. I couldn't continue to read after coming to India as the book is banned here.
I'm honoured to know that my thoughts & philosophy inspired you. Thanks a lot!
    See ya soon..

The description is indeed like our image of paradise. The description of the other places where they travelled is also very vivid.
    70 hoors? I think it is 72.
Here is a suicide bomber joke:
A suicide bomber tried to set off the bomb in his vest, but failed. He fainted from fright, and regained consciousness in hospital. He saw the nurse and asked, "Where are the other 71 hoors?"

I just finished 'Firdaus e Barreen.' It is an interesting and unusual book. It shows how people became fidayeen and Hashashin and probably, this is how they now become suicide bombers.
I tried to get Ghulam Bagh, but haven't found it yet.
