“Most of the recent Magic the Gathering novels have been pretty bad but this book, co-written by newcomer Timothy Sanders, is a welcome surprise. While it does not reach the heights of "The Brothers' War" which was the very first and still the very best Magic the Gathering novel, "Planar Chaos" manages to get its readers invested in the characters, treating them seriously and not as the jokes they appeared to be in previous trilogies ("Invasion" cycle anyone?). ”
