Hi, May I know your real name!!!
Here's another recommendation that just popped up in my mind - Stuart Stevens. I have read (and own) 2 of his books - Malaria Dreams and Night Train to Turkistan. Both are excellent! Happy reading!
Heard a lot of good things about "A Long Way Gone". It's just that I watched a lot of Sierra Leone documentaries and such for a while, that I wanna take a break before I take up material from that part of the world again. It does sort of get to you........very sad. :-((
Hmmm, it's tough to recommend just a few from a genre that I read for 10+ years before actually making the move to general fiction/literature. Here's a 1st attempt. I am including those that made a real impression on me...My invented country - Isabel AllendeElie Wiesel – NightRiver Town – Peter HesslerLooking for Alaska - Peter Jenkins The Zanzibar Chest – Aidan HartleyIn Xanadu – William DalrympleIndian Summer – Will RandallThe Ends of the Earth – Robert KaplanIn Patagonia – Bruce ChatwinYou can always check for more on my shelf under the respective tags. Happy reading!
