Another year older, and now I have a little girl who will hopefully love to read when she gets old enough! Right now she likes fuzzy baby books, and I love to read to her as I rock her to sleep at night :) My favorite author is Peter S. Beagle and I'd love to talk to other people who like his work. I also love Parke Godwin and William Goldman... more »

One of my all-time favorites. This was the book that made me love fantasy fiction, along with William Goldman's 'The Princess Bride'. Peter S. Beagle is my favorite author and I've never been disappointed in anything of his that I've read. If you remember the animated movie from the 80s, read this! It blows the movie away and deserves its place as a fantasy classic.

  • Best from Fantasy and Science Fiction : 19th Series

Several great stories, this was the 2nd Best of Fantasy and Science Fiction anthology I've read, the first was the 13th series. Although there were several stories I liked, there weren't really any that I loved, but the 13th series had one that stood out as a clear favorite (Richard McKenna's "Hunter, Come Home"). My favorites of this, the 19th series, were probably Edgar Pangborn's "Longtooth" and "Get A Horse!". Least favorite was Avram Davidson's, strangely enough, his story was my least favorite of the 13th series as well.

William Goldman is the author of one of my favorite books, The Princess Bride. This was the first book I've read of his since TPB, which I've loved for years. I really shouldn't have delayed in reading another of his titles! This was fantastic, a frightening and beautiful and funny and sad relationship extravaganza.

The Behrani family were the strongest characters, I thought the romance between Kathy and Les was a little weak. Still, it held my attention and I enjoyed it.
