Sorry I have not been in better touch. I'm afraid I haven't read many good books lately, but I finally got my hands on A Thousand Splendid Suns (I think that's the title) and am very excited about that. I loved the Kite Runner. I haven't even gotten to Water for Elephants yet but appreciate your comments. I need to make more time for reading! Hope you are well.

thanks for the note about Atonement...I still can't remember the scene -- wasn't the sex scene in the library? I thought the misunderstanding happened in a fountain...I guess I'll have to re-read parts of it to get it to come back....

    Celebrate Adoption group:

Our first group read is Elinor Lipman's Then She Found Me.

Let's plan on reading through August, then starting discussion in September. That'll give everyone plenty of time to get their hands on the book and read it before we start chatting.

    Hope you'll join in!

I love White Oleander! That is probably one of my all-time favorites. And I have Water for Elephants sitting on my bookshelf but haven't gotten to it yet. Let me know if you like it!

Thank you much! White Oleander is a novel with much depth, in my opinion, although it may not seem like it initially.

And what exactly do you mean by my 'background'?

Hamchuch mentioned a while back you were going to read the Time Traveler's Wife....did you? If so, what did you think? I re-read it fairly recently. It is one of my favorites although I just give up on figuring it all out :)

Hey! Yes, I am Ann Rice-less. I am sure I would like her, I just never got around to reading anything by her. She is one my list, I assure you. I read a review of "A Density of Souls" and I picked it up right away, which is why I have read the son and not the mother. Yet.
