I was born in Thailand and grew up in the US and Europe. I now live in northern California where my husband works as a surgeon and we are raising our 3 sons and 1 daughter. I love how reading and discussing great books helps me connect with my family and friends as well as give me insight and a broader view to the world, human nature and the...more »

I just read the sneak preview of New Moon. Did you like that one? Now I'm kind of hooked and would like to find out what happens at the birthday party! (smile)

    Hi Stacy,
I finished Twilight. It was entertaining but I'm not sure why it is such a big hit. Thanks for letting me borrow it. How would you like me to get it back to you?

By the way, my husband's oldest brother and family live in Granite Bay. His name is Lamont Carr, and he is a retired orthodonist. Granite Bay is a really nice area. My husband was raised in the Bay Area of California--Berkeley. We now live in Utah.

Stacy, if I were to recommend one book that I have read recently it would be Gifted Hands by Ben Carson. It is one of the most amazing and inspirational stories I have read. He is a truly remarkable man with a remarkable story. The book should be at your library, or it is quite inexpensive.

Hi, Under the Oaks. I'm not sure how to add you to my list, but I'm thinking of branching out a little on Shelfari, if I can figure out how to do it. My daughter got me interested. She works in a library and has lots of interesting reads on her shelf. I wondered how I popped up in your list and how I should add you to my list.

    Happy reading. Dianne

Did you like the Holy Secret? Is it a self-help book? I saw it free online but didn't look at it. Viv

    Stacy,
This is such a fun website. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. I can hardly wait for book club to start again. I really love the Bodie Thoene books on my list.
    Take care,
    Vivian

    Stacy,
I haven't really figured out how to use this and write about books. I am going to talk to Laurie this week about bookclub. I just finished Garlic and Sapphires by ruth Riechl. It was about her being the restaurant critic at the New York Times. I also read a book, The Wednesday Letters. It is by the same author who wrote The Christmas Jars. You are the only person I have written to on this. Melanie
