I'm an avid reader and will read just about anything fiction. I love romance, classics, sci-fi, mysteries, dramas, paranormal, etc. Wander my shelf and take a look, I do try for every new book I read to give a short review of my first reactions. If you have a question or want to swap notes, please leave me a message. Thanks and welcome to my... more »

Yes, I am totally loving her. I kind of had my doubts because I just read a story about a cardinal and a cat. I was expecting it to be really similar, but it is so different. I love the totally unaware Faith going up against Vaughn. It is even better than the first one.
I am hoping to get a bunch of books for Christmas, and Shiver is on my list. *crosses fingers and writes a reminder to bug the hubby again*

It is pathetically insignificant next to yours! Wow, you read a lot! I'm, so impressed! I have three books that I am reading, but haven't had enough time to put them all on. Oh, and then I am also taking an economics course and must read that book (makes hacking Bill the Cat noises). It is so hard to stay on task in that class! By the way, I love the cat on your profile!

The Morganville Vampires series is definitely addictive...how many books are supposed to be in it?

Yeah, you are finally reading City of Glass! I'm glad it finally came in to the library. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Yeah, that's why I loved the site as soon as I joined...I should post some reviews, at least for my favourite books but I tend to be very "academic" (and boring) when reviewing :)
Going back to the differences between countries, I've just realised there isn't any translation for the Morganville series in Italian...I know it may sound crazy but I'll try to translate the first chapter and propose the whole translation to a publisher. Last week on the bus some girls looked very interested in the book!!!

Libraries here are really slow with new aquisitions. Besides, nobody cares about this kind of literature because libraries are supposed to have all the brainy serious stuff.
Apart from these "minor" things the problem is that most of the books I'd like to read are translated in Italia years after they are released and libraries don't buy copies in the original language...my only chance is to buy used or cheap paperback copies from the internet. It's not that expensive - I pay an average of 6 euro per copy, international delivery included - and I enjoy too much reading in English.
I have the Inkheart trilogy, Eldest and Brisingr and some of the Sookie novels as well...it should be enough!!!

Once again our tastes are alike: I was thinking of reading Uninvited...you'll tell me if it's worth it, since I'll have to purchase that as well :)

I've just finished The Glass House: amzing, fabulous...I read it in only a reading session!!!! Since I have to wait June to purchase the paperback version of City of Glass (for economic reasons), I've just ordered books 2-3-4-5 of the Morganiville series which, together with the Southern Vampire 2 and 3, should be enough to entertain me until June :)

I'm waiting for Glass Houses to be dispatched by Amazon...though nobody has ever suggested it on the Lex it, it seemed to be intriguing. I'm glad you liked it: it will make me read it with a more positive attitude.
I'm reading City of Bones but the first few pages haven't hooked me yet...

Yay! I can't wait for you and the other DGG's to read and discuss it.

I was going to start the Sookie books, but found out that my library has 1-3 on audiobooks only and 5-8 in stock. I'll have to listen the first 3, interlibrary loan that one along with Niko's book, and then read 5-8. Grr..why must they make this harder than it needs to be?

Put Graceling by Kristin Cashore on your list to read. It's fantastic! Great plot, themes, and the female character kicks butt.
