I am a student at Lund University, Sweden. My major will be in publishing with a special interest in eBooks. I love reading, and I don't mind much wether it's on my iPod touch, my MacBook or a traditional book. If the text is interesting enough, and the typography and layout good enough, I'll read. Also, to me listening to an audiobook is... more »

Yup you got it. Afraid I'll be to late though. Got an account at avanza.se, but looking over the agreement form for trading US-papers, I noticed a clear prohibition: US Citizens may not use this form. So... ??? I sent in a support question but haven't heard back.

Ah, I just figured out how to use the quick search bar to find and add books quickly. I think you'll notice a bit more diversity now.

Hehe... I just imported my entire amazon wishlist to have *something* on my shelf (I haven't been using delicious library). And my amazon library was built entirely during a couple of days when I was looking for some good math books to read. I should really clean it out I guess. And add a little diversity :)

At the risk of sounding cliche, I would recomment "I, Robot". Unlike the film, it is a collection of small stories told by one person about interesting and curious mishaps with Robots. I think it is a good gateway book. However, the Foundation series is very good, and ends up interweaving with his other series so becomes very epic, but is also very political as well as sci-fi. A good standalone book is Nemesis.

I've probably not given you a very clear picture there, but I think the best thing to do it delve in and see if you like his style. I think the best thing about him is that he mixes a lot of political and social writing into his fiction and then throws some sciency stuff in there as well and I think that's why i'd also recommend him to non-scifi readers too.

I would love to try reading something a bit different and I like your suggestion :)
