I liked your review of Gemini Bites. I just finished reading it. I liked the characters' voices and was glad that Judy redeemed herself by the end--I was having a tough time liking her at all!
Are you a public library librarian? School? Where would you see this book fitting?

    Hi Tess,
I see you really enjoyed Beastly. I'm nearly finished it too - started it yesterday. I loved the personal growth that Kyle/Adrian experienced and it was a much more enjoyable read than I'd expected too.
The movie is due out March 4th in the US - not sure what that means for us here in NZ. I took a peek at the trailer and the plot has been altered slightly to satisfy the needs of a big screen experience, but not so much that it will frustrate lovers of the book. I'm hoping to see it when it gets here. You've probably guessed that I'm a pretty keen movie goer, though not in the way I love books. If you too are a big movie buff, check out www.imdb.com
    Happy reading!

I thought it was pretty good. I think I liked another of his, "The Gates," a bit better, but I do like the twisted fairy tale kind of stuff.

    The Ancient One says

    Happiness is here
    +++++++++++++++++++

Happiness is far too valuable to be put off until later, or
buried in the past. Happiness is here for you to bring to
life in the only place where you can truly experience it,
    the present moment.

Being happy right now will not make your problems any worse.
In fact, it will most likely make things better. Your happiness
will not harm or offend anyone else. In fact, it may very well
be of much value to others.

Happiness has no prerequisites, no conditions which must first
be met, really no requirements at all. Experiencing happiness
does not in any way deplete it, but increases the supply of it.

Stop waiting for happiness to come to you and start letting
it come from you. And there will always be more than enough
    to go around.

Miss you on the YA discussion board. I did an author interview with Brian Katcher, the author of "Almost Perfect, on my blog. Here's the link if you're interested: http://booksinthespotlight.blogspot.com/2010/07/interview-with-almost-perfects-author.html

I read all the books. The last 4 or 5 as soon as they came out. My husband was blind so he listened to them on CD. I would always wait for him to finish and then we had fun discussing them. I have also seen all the movies. The books are more interesting that the movies. Due to time the movies lack a lot of details in the books.

Thanks for the recommend! I remember loving the movie - watched it many times as a kid - but I don't think I ever read the book! ??? I wonder why? That should be a fun and interesting read for both of us!

That happened during my reading slump and I didn't finish it but not because I didn't like it. I just dumped all seven books in my bag and took them back to lib. I intend to give it another go.

Okay, I actually liked City of Glass. The stupid secret is cleared up about two thirds of the way through, and, and Jace stops being a jerk every 10 seconds. He's more just sarcastic. If she could have made him like that the whole way through, it wouldn't have been so irritating to read the first two. Well, it wouldn't have been if the stupid secret hadn't been written in. Couldn't she come up with any other type of tension for those two?

It's interesting (in a historical sense) and sad. I don't know if it is emotionally relevant to teens today - except as a historical record. Hazel loves finding out "how things used to be" - that's where I think this book is very important. Unless we understand historical issues, we are forever doomed to repeat our mistakes! Does that completely answer your question? :)

Thanks! You know, that book certainly helped boost my opinion of the name ; ) Cora was my great-grandmother's middle name and we have a Rose on my other side, so I kinda adapted it (with a twilighty touch, I suppose).

I didn't like "Hush, Hush". I thought the author tried to make it a Twilight-like romance. Characters meet in a biology class. I didn't feel any chemistry between the main leads and I couldn't really figure out how the mythology fit into the plot. *Shrugs* Let me know what you think of it when you get to it. Yeah, I've noticed a lot of fallen angels. I've seen commercials for the series "Fallen".

My Uncle was giving my titles I need to read. I'm glad to see that the majority of the readers of Hunger Games know what's what.
