Hi, I'm starting to read The Confessor by Daniel Silva. It makes me so happy to read another of Gabriel Allon's mystery. Did you go to Egypt ? What have you been reading lately ?

Hi, Just saw you are going to Egypt in March. That should be a fabulous trip. I finishes Pillars of the Earth and I highly recommend it. Sometimes when you read a book, you get disappointed with the ending but this is not the case. I just hope the next books I read will be as good...

Hi there, I am going to finish it tonight. 40 pages left ! What a great story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I bought A World Without End which is the sequel but I think I'll read a few more lighter books in between. But, I'm really looking forward to read it. Let me know what you think of it. Where are you going on your trip ?

Ishmael is great. One of my favorites, but as you know, I love the philosophical books. Discusses man's unwitting role in his own destruction.

Happy New Year to you and yours ! Hope you had a nice Christmas too... Mine was spectacular. After Christmas Eve at my parents and Christmas dinner at our oldest daughter, we went to Quebec City and stayed in a suite at the Chateau Frontenac. If you ever come this way, this is where you need to stay for the real "European Experience". Quebec City is absolutely wonderful: great food, great sights, great shopping and great history. It's the oldest city in North America and 2008 will be its 400th Anniversary so there will be a lot of celebration all year round. I looked up Mortal Prey and it does look like a good book. I put it on my list of books to buy. Thanks ! I'm still reading Pillars of the Earth and still like it. Bye for now !

Hi, I forgot to answer your question about John Grisham. I do like his books. Some of my favorites are The Broker, The Brethren and The Testament. Which one did you enjoy most ?

Hi, Nice to hear from you. Sounds like you're having fun doing the Xmas thing in NYC ! Good for you ! I've never been to NYC at Xmas. I've been there for Thanksgiving and it was really festive. I can only imagine how it is at Xmas. I am still reading Pillars of the Earth and still enjoying it tremendously. About a book on the French Canadian history and culture in English, I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'll think about it and if I find something I will let you know for sure. Of course there are plenty in French... How's your French ? Where are you going to celebrate the holidays ? We're going to be staying in Montreal for Xmas then we're off to Quebec City for a few days and back at the cottage in the Townships for the next couple of weeks. We have tons of snow already so it will be a white Xmas for sure...

Hi There, I see you have Pillars of the Earth on your shelf. I am reading it now and I really enjoy it. Have you read it ? What did you think of it ? There's a sequel out now, I think I'll wait until it comes out in paperback just so I don't get big arms for reading such heavy books... HA ! Hope you are well.
What are you reading now ?

Hello, nice to hear back from you. I can't help but find you lucky to live in Florida. Especially today... We are getting -3.5C. That's kinda cool after 3 weeks in Italy.

If you have never made it to Montreal or Quebec City, you have to put those on your agenda. But make sure you come in the summer. The weather is much more pleasant.

About the wedding in the Secret Servant, it kind of surprised me too. I don't know where Daniel Silva is going with this but that will be something to look forward too. Right ?

I finished the English Assassin and enjoyed it very much. I'm reading something completely different now, but my next book is going to be The Confessor and then I should be up to date with Daniel Silva's book with Gabriel Allon.

What are you reading now ?

Hi, One of his what ? Did you leave the sentence intentionnally blank ? I did finish it and really enjoyed it. I think it is one of his best. I am currently reading The English Assassin from him as well (Did you read it ?)and it's also a good read. It will be interesting to see what Daniel Silva comes up with in his next book. I hope it won't be too long before we see it.... Claire

Hi ! Glad to hear from you. I'm one third into it now. It is really good. If you liked The Messenger, his last book, you will pick up right where you left off. Many of the same characters re-appear so it's a familiar feeling. I'll let you know if I still enjoy it when I'm finished. I doubt I will be disappointed. Let me know when you read it...
