I just read.
And I love shoes, cats,
dining out, travel,
martinis, SOCCER,
and my husband--him to pieces!

I'm always looking for the next "East of Eden,"
that is, a book that I immediately fall in love with.
If you have any recommendations--
YOUR East of Eden--let me know!
But any romances or anything...more »

My favorite of all times is The Time Travelers Wife, for a laugh My Horizontial Life by Chelsea Handler, a more recent fav The Godmother by Carrie Adams and a must read and a unexpected page turner The Story Of A Marriage. Yeah, Goldblum would be an odd choice for that role (what I've heard about it). I will check out the movie sometime. Although I'm not a big fan of Basinger, it sounds like a great movie.

Glad to hear you've read it. I loved Cider House Rules,too....just not as much as Owen Meany! I'm with you on the other two: big disappointments. I lost interest in Till I Find You (or whatever it's called), and, guess what? I threw out A Widow for One Year, too! (Only done that with a couple of books that I can remember) It just was so unnecessarily crude, I thought. Haven' heard of the movie before. When was it released??

    Hi,
Next great book: I noticed that you have 2 John Irving books on your shelf, but not his BEST (IMHO), which is A Prayer for Owen Meany. This is absolutely one of my all-time favourite books....I've read it 3 times!

    Yes :)

I was hopelessly addicted to DS sappy romances, but I got over that real fast.

My reading habits have developed into something much finer like a good wine :)

I have never heard of your heart throb, but I understand what you mean about fainting. I almost keeled over myself when KU hugged me like that :)

Yes, in response to your request for recs. It's this incredibly good read I found down at the tastiest little bookstore. If you are ever ambling through Manhattan as I was, you will love eeet. It's called The Strand. Behold the Strand. Stop and enter. *orchestral music and sunbeam spotlight will appear*
