Check out my book, "The Angel of Death and the Demon". It's a sci-fi/supernatural thriller. I try to take modern day issues and put them in a fictional world with a few twists. The second book in the series will be out in the fall and deals with bioterrorism. It shoul dbe very realistic as I am a Microbiologist. Here's the marketing copy to give you a flavor of the novel:
Liam Michaels understands terrorism. While others may wonder how a human being can commit heinous acts of mass violence, he doesn’t. He knows the reason—they aren’t human.

To struggling artists, homeless people, and a little crippled girl in need of an operation, Liam is a compassionate guardian angel. But in reality, he’s Azrael, the immortal Angel of Death, placed on earth to track down and destroy evil originating from demonic sources.

Liam is an artist and Voidmaster who can travel the infinite dimensions of the Multiverse through entryways placed in each of his paintings and photographs. On New Year’s Eve, Liam steps out of a painting located in a Times Square hotel and intercepts two men setting a briefcase-size neutron bomb. They are, in fact, part of the Ba, a terrorist group spawned by the demon Raum.

Connaissance Industries, the largest manufacturer of computer hardware, and its CEO, Jean Delacroix, are secretly part of the Ba. Using an undetectable sentinel code inserted into all Connaissance hardware, Jean initiates a series of Internet bank robberies totaling billions. But Jean doesn’t stop with Internet thievery. In keeping with the goals of his master, he leaves a calling card at the sites of his thefts—a mini-neutron bomb.

Liam must combine his angelic abilities with those of some uniquely talented men and some of today’s most advanced technologies in the race to find and stop the Ba and their demonic leader.

    Hi Tom,

I saw that you recently added some of the books from my top list but didn't like them (The Giver and The Man Who Folded In to Himself). I hope I can give you a good recommendation as I am almost finished with Richard Matheson's "What Dreams May Come." I can't put this book down. I think that this is a book that you would like too!

    Hi Tom:

I’m touching base with all my Shelfari friends since it’s been so hectic lately and doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down. I have just started my Fall/Winter Book Tour, after recently completing a 1-month virtual book tour (VBT) that was quite exciting. If you’d like to check out my VBT, please go to: http://www.whalesongbook.com/virtual-tour-2007.

If you are in the Edmonton area, or traveling to Edmonton, Alberta, between now and Christmas, please check out my book signing schedule. I would LOVE to meet some of my Shelfari friends in person.

And don’t forget, if you order any of my books (Whale Song makes an awesome gift for any woman or young girl in your life), please contact me and ask for a FREE autographed bookplate and bookmark.

    Happy reading!

P.S. I'd love to be a radio guest on your show if you do interviews by phone. Just please, not on Torture Tuesdays. :) P.P.S. I recently met Eric Kampmann, the publisher of OJ's 'confession' book.

Thanks for adding me. I agree with your choice of Mindscan as one of Sawyer's best books. Interesting to think if a copy of ourselves is in fact life. I only rated Calcuating God higher because of all the science that I learned and the unlikelyhood of anything so complex being developed through pure chance. It is very difficult to squeeze everything down to a top 10 indeed!

    Hi,

Your list of favorite authors is virtually identical to mine, even down to my evaluation of Steven King. Orson Scott Card and Robert J. Sawyer (I loved Calculating God) and my favorite two scifi authors too! Could I be added to your list of friends/

    Regards,

    Hi Tom:

You may enjoy The River, an action-packed conspiracy thriller with a sci-fi twist. It deals with time travel, nanotechnology and the search for youth and longevity. The River has been compared to Michael Crichton's Timeline and Dan Brown's Deception Point, and it is currently in negotiation with a film producer for a feature film.

The River is available on Amazon. I't by...me...Cheryl Kaye Tardif.

Also, do you ever do phone interviews with guests? I'd love to chat with you about my novels. I've had many interviews in Canada and the US (TV, radio, newspapers and magazines.) I was on New Age Radio (Waukegan, IL) a while back. If you're ever looking for a guest, let me know...I can send you a review copy of The River. :)

    Happy reading!

Most american writers "shove" the USA down their readers throats as well, so lets call it even. Now about Temple Grandin. What do you know about her? Have you read Oliver Sacks?

I really wish you and I didnt have so many (scifi) books in common since you obviously dislike Canadians. I think Robert Sawyer is the best scifi writer around. And the fact that he is not American is very refreshing.
