How are you Trish? Reading anything wonderful?
Thank you for the suggestions. I put both on my wish list. Carol
hey, i posted your reading choices on DW
Trish,I visited Venice, Pisa, Florence, Sorrento, Orvieto, Amalfi Coast, Pompeii and Rome. It was the best trip of my life! I loved everything about Italy, all the food, the people, all the Historical Buildings & Sites, the Churches, the Gelato etc... I never worried about what I ate because we walked so much and we burned it off. What I would love to know from you, Can you recommend any books that you have read and loved about Italy? Fiction and Nonfiction. It doesn't matter. I read everything! Let's keep in touch, Carol
I read your profile about Italy and brought back wonderful memories of my visit 2 years ago. I loved it so much....I pray I re-visit it again someday soon. Did you bring back luscious recipes?Just finished Eat, Pray, Love. You might be interested in reading her time in Italy. It was a great book.Ciao, Carol
Sounds like a wonderful place to live. Have a great week. :)
Announcing EBC's new read: SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES by Ray Bradbury. I hope you will join us in reading & discussing! Happy October!
Where in Italy did you live? And yes, the crazy drivers are unlike any other in the world.
Hi trishbI noticed your post about 3 books on an island...have you read "Lamb" by Christopher Moore. Pretty funny book. I have read all of his and enjoy his strange sense of humor.Reading your profile I noticed you lived near Venice. I have close friend in Padua (30 minutes from Venice). We have been there several times and I am in love with it. Love the country, the people, the food, everything. I just finished Eat, Pray, Love...the first part is about the author traveling in Italy. I could relate and found it to be a great read. Check it out.~TIna
Sorry!! This is oneof those mindless tasks where I'm just clicking & daydreaming. Thanks! =-0

Completely agree with you about the first sentence of Pride and Prejudice. Just joined today. definitely a new obsession.
Trish - yes, I finally opened your link - i fear a new addiction coming! thanks for the suggestion. I have several of your wish list books. Will have to lend. Reading some of the notes below "The Ruins" is that book we talked abt and I wanted you to read and then tell me if it's too gory for me. hee hee.
Thanks for your note. I'm glad you enjoyed the recommendations. I hope to hear from you if you ever get to read any of them... As for my favorite towns in Italy, I really lobe life in small medieval towns like Barga in Northern Tuscany but I also really enjoyed visiting Positano, Sorrento (the whole Amalfi Coast) and Capri. I've been to Venice a few times and always in different seasons. I loved it under the white carpet of snow, under water, in full sun. It's always a very intense place to visit. Do you know where you're going to move to in Germany ? There are some beautiful areas there too...
Hi trishbI also live in Colorado (Colorado Springs) and have had a lot of fun on this site...and I have found several really good bookssince you have read some Stephen King books...you may like the latest book I have been recommending to peopleit is by Scott Smith and is titled "The Ruins"..actually King recommended it in a magazine I readtake care
Hello Trish, I enjoyed reading your profile and looking at your shelf. We seem to have similar tastes. I would like to recommend a few books set in Italy: Daniel Silva is one of my favorite author. He has a main character named Gabriel Allon that is an art restorer in Venice and also a spy. Check the book Prince of Fire. Also, Alice Steinbach wrote Without Reservations and Educting Alice which were different but very interesting. On a lighter side, try The food of Love by Anthony Capella. Happy Reading, Claire
Hi Trish, Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying Book of Air...I'll be looking forward to your review! Happy reading!
If you're on the lookout for books featuring Italy, you might want to check out "And Then You Die" by Michael Dibdin.
