Trisha J

I'm a sahm to two daughters and two Boxer daughters. I'm very happily married. I'm a full time student studying to get my BA in English. And I'm an avid reader. I'm not happy unless I have a book on hand to read. When I'm not reading, I like to knit, cross stitch, hike, and go to the beach.

I recently started an online book discussion... more »

A really great Tess Gerritsen. I found it surprising that this is the first Jane Rizzoli book and Jane herself was very hard to like or respect. That's unusual for someone who is supposed to be the main character in the story. I really want to read more in the series to see how this character evolves.

  • Prodigal Son (Dean Koontz's Frankenstein, Book 1)

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, I thought it lacked imagination by saying that Shelley's Frankenstein was really non-fiction thus giving a foundation for Koontz's version. On the other, Koontz tells his story well and from many different angles which can be hard to do. Overall, I liked it and will read the second installment. Hopefully, Koontz will get around to writing the third one which is overdue.

This was a good In Death but not as good as some of the others. I enjoyed it, as I always do, but I missed Feeny and there wasn't enough Peabody/McNab interaction.

This book was okay. There were parts that were full of excitement, drama, and action that were totally enjoyable to read. Then you get to the parts where...I guess you would call it background information. It was scenes that explained the motivations of the different factions that were after Bourne. I found these chapters and sections to be extremely boring. It didn't help that Ludlum uses names like the Russians do. You would have one man that would be referred to in four different ways and I often found myself trying to figure out who everybody was and what part they were playing in the drama.

Rating this book, I give it a three out of five because it wasn't horrible by any means but it also hasn't earned a "favorite" spot on my book shelf.

Good beginning and middle. Hated the ending. Would I read it again knowing how it ended? Def not. It's going to be fun to discuss in my group so I'm not sorry that I read it, but overall, I was disappointed.

This was an okay Christmas read. It was sufficiently sappy and taught a Christmas lesson but I don't understand why it was a #1 bestseller. I don't regret reading it but it's not something I would have picked out myself. I read this for my book discussion group. http://readersanonymous.ning.com/

I loved the whole series and was sad to see it end. My only complaint about the last book was that the epilogue felt rushed and like it was an afterthought. Rowling should've either rounded it out a little better or left it out of the book altogether.
