First Repairman Jack novel set in my home state of Florida. Dude, did you have to be so cruel to the "natives"? LOL That knocked one star off my rating. Interesting story with some unforeseen developments and I added that star back because we were treated to a wonderful look at Jack's Dad which made up for the other stuff...

Love Repairman Jack. Unapologetic uber-liberal mercenary rebel, who's just a nice guy at heart. LOL This book turned out to be a pretty good ghost story, with the usual Jack-twists.

Wow. This was a very hard book to read. Had to stop reading it before bed because it gave me strange dreams. LOL I have learned more about the bizarre world of food prohibition and the ins and outs of it's politics because of it and, honestly, I don't know if I really wanted to know after all. While there were foods that tempted me (raw-milk cheese is one) some of the others were definitely not tempting at all, but still fascinating nonetheless.

This book was incredibly wordy. Took the author forever and a day to get to the point. A monster maze of words. Having waded through it all, it just really wasn't worth it in the end...

I truly loved this story. Hard to believe that a man wrote such a novel from a woman's POV and get it so accurate at the same time. I was convinced at the end, that if this had actually happened the way he described at the beginning of the novel, it most likely would have ended the way he wrote. Needed many tissues to finish this story...

Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed this book. I'm a big sci-fi fan, especially of time travel related stories, and I definitely was not disappointed. Well, I take that back, I would have enjoyed hearing more of Roxanne's travels, but I understand there has to be a limit. LOL Funny thing, I partially saw the end coming but it still got to me - needed a couple of tissues to finish up the book. *sniff*

Fun book to read. Not too deep, but full of interesting, quirky characters that keep the story moving in a good way. I really enjoy reading about the fictional town of Mojo, LA, in fact I think it would be fun to live there! LOL Needless to say, I'm looking forward to book #2 in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Very interesting premise and I love how the author treats the much-maligned "new witches" of Salem with respect. Growing up in tourist towns, I can totally associate how tourism can mess with life and loved seeing it portrayed through another town. And yes, it makes me want to visit Salem even more. LOL Looking forward to the sequel!

  • World Without End

I read The Pillars of the Earth over a decade ago and never forgot it - it was that good of a book. Never dreaming there was a "sequel", I found World Without End by serendipitous accident at the library. I admit, I was a bit hesitant by the sheer size of the book, but I dove right in. I'm glad I did, it was wonderful. This book can be read on it's own, no need to read the first, but it was great to hear about the Jack and Aliena's descendants and the town & cathedral once again, like meeting old friends and catching up. I've added this, along with Pillars, to my wish list, I would love to own both in hardback so I can revisit them all again...

Disappointed by this 4th Odd novel, definitely not up to the standards of the first 3. It did catch up near the end of the book, but not in enough time for me.
